A stable solution that has very few hardware failures and provides excellent technical support
Our archival is on Dell ECS. Some critical data is on the cloud. The rest is stored on-premise We have government compliances to follow. We manage compliance using the tool. We also have our backups. We must have backups for audits. It is a very good product. We face very few hardware failures.…

Easy-to-learn platform with valuable integration capabilities
The impact of QuickBase's integration capabilities with other tools has been positive. I've successfully integrated it with two to three business applications, and the experience has been quite good. The seamless integration with different applications effectively enhances the in-house features. It is a more modular version of Excel, particularly beneficial for projects requiring collaboration across multiple locations. However, Excel remains a suitable option for teams situated in one location. Considering factors like functionality and price, the product proves to be worth the investment. It is easy for a beginner to learn to use QuickBase for the first time. The instructions, manuals, and videos provided within the tool are exceptional for learning how to use it. After viewing the videos, users can easily build applications with various features. I rate it as an eight. There's still room for improvement in the UI. Nevertheless, it is a useful tool. Sometimes, I notice a lag in the software during business hours due to the high volume of data being circulated. It needs to perform optimally. The feature to export data in a required format also has limitations, especially regarding the number of records that can be exported.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Dell's technical support team is good."
"The technology is very good, it performs well."
"What I like best about this product is that it is a complete solution, both hardware, and software, by the same vendor."
"The scalability is good."
"Competitive object storage platform that's stable and scalable."
"Dell ECS is a cost-effective solution that provides ease of use and availability."
"The setup was straightforward."
"This product is very competitive."
"It has superb ease of use and no code needed to create and build apps and databases."
"It is low-code. We are able to go in and create apps quickly. It is very helpful for the size of our company. We're a mid-size company, and at this moment, we don't need anything externally. We don't have to go out and consult a consulting firm to build something from the ground up. So, the ease of that and being able to get development quickly up and running has been good for us."
"There's a lot of stability in QuickBase...I really appreciate the processing part of QuickBase, especially considering how we're able to get information in real time instead of having to wait."
"Considering factors like functionality and price, the product proves to be worth the investment."
"QuickBase reminds me when a software license or a hardware support contract is near expiration so that I can initiate our company's procurement process in time and not miss a deadline."
"The product is easy to use."
"Allows users have anytime/anywhere access."
"The reporting tool: It helps in data analytics to provide the solution more efficiency."

Cons

"The initial setup is not so easy."
"The solution’s stability could be improved."
"The disaster recovery could be improved because there should be something in-built within the ECS. Search and recovery should be in-built. Right now, we have to use some external tools for performing the recovery itself. For example, we're using Atempo or deploying Golden Superna, so it has dependency on the external third party vendors."
"Dell EMC ECS should support segregation of duty, particularly for role-based access controls. Having a single pane of glass for smarter observation and better control mechanism would also make this solution better."
"From an improvement perspective, Dell ECS should aim to offer a better pricing plan to its users."
"They need to ensure that the system will work if a site goes down."
"Dell EMC ECS could improve by having Relational Database Services(RDS) to review progress. Additionally, if the training was provided it would be a benefit, it would be good for our engineers."
"Technical support needs to be improved."
"Unfortunately, there is still no new report formatting available natively, and would still require 3rd party developers to help with that. ."
"This rule: The Maximum is 60 rules. We need to provide more in order to improve."
"Third-party integration -- they are working on it and I find their brand-new still-in-beta Webhooks very promising."
"I would like to see better options for producing paper reports from Quick Base, rather than viewing things exclusively on screen."
"The improved developer interface in some areas can be difficult to use for complex items."
"When learning QuickBase, I noticed a shift in its cost structure. It operated on a cost-efficient model tied to the number of users, with invoicing based on applicants."
"I would like the product to add more working processes."
"They could enhance the ability to link records between tables directly without the need for additional automation to increase space and time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are not paying for the license at this stage."
"It's a lease-based model, so it's capacity-based. We already negotiated the price a lot, but we're still doing that with Dell because somehow the product was not installed successfully, so there was a lot of struggle in the distributor territory between Dell and the environment itself. I would give the solution a 6 out of 10 for the pricing. There's a little room for improvement."
"Dell EMC ECS is too expensive."
"The price of Dell ECS should be reduced."
"Dell ECS is a cost-effective solution."
"It is an inexpensive product."
"The solution's cost is quite reasonable."
"The charges for this solution are made in blocks of models, which are purchased depending on what features an organization requires."
"The pricing for the tier my company used included ten seats and the subcontractor, amounting to approximately $18,000 USD per year."
"Quickbase is probably not the cheapest app out there. That said, it is worth its weight in gold. There is no other app that I know of in the market today that can do what Quickbase does."
"The solution is expensive and geared toward enterprise-level clients."
"You have to negotiate the price because it varies based on the number of users you have, as well as how much cloud storage space you need."
"We felt the pricing and licensing for QuickBase were easy enough to understand, fair and competitive."
"The pricing for QuickBase is pretty straightforward, It is based on a per user/per month licensing fee."
"It is probably about 300 per license per person. There is just the licensing cost. There are no additional costs."
"The product is cheap when compared to other products."
