We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points.""The single dashboard is a valuable feature."

"We find that the reporting is particularly valuable in terms of not only communicating with our peer teams but also with the executives.""I like the tool’s scalability and real-time reports. Earlier, we struggled to give real-time reports to clients. I also like the tool’s deployment model where we can deploy it either on-premises or in-house. We don’t have to carry the data all over the globe. Also, I am impressed with the tool's flow reporting and Wi-Fi.""It's given us the ability to create various real-time network performance reports and distribute them to any colleague who can access these reports immediately.""We've had great feedback from our customers about SevOne support. They're willing to set up a remote session upon request. You have to go through three tiers of support with most vendors, and they ask a lot of screening questions before they will do a remote session. You need to spend a lot of time before an engineer will host a remote session to look at your problematic system.""SevOne provides support for all universal connectors. They internally work with other data sources to get features implemented. We have an SD-WAN implementation and use other app data to monitor performance. If you pull that data into one centralized location, that is very useful for management.""The most valuable feature as of late has been the API integration with ServiceNow.""SevOne has rich API capabilities, giving us the flexibility to control what we collect and customize the collection, creation, and manipulation of now metrics as necessary.""Flexible architecture: You can extend the system and its capacity by attaching another cluster pair."

"I can save the traffic and analysis when I want to. Also, it's especially helpful to follow the stream (TCP, UDP, etc.).""Setup is very easy. It's also possible to change source code and compile if you want to change something in the code, because it's free.""The transmission and reception issues are valuable.""Wireshark is a good tool to start with network analyzing and packet capturing.""It gives us the ability to pinpoint problems and to communicate network problems with software and hardware vendors.""The drill-down available for packet analysis is great. It gives a network security engineer insight into what is going on at the packet level and enables better troubleshooting.""The most valuable feature of Wireshark is the ability to choose a destination of flow that has not been working as expected.""The feature to incorporate Voice over IP (VoIP) incidents into network traffic analysis is valuable. Capturing voice or SIP communication allows for examination of interactions between SIP clients and SIP servers. This helps the team investigate or analyze issues related to call center servers and operators."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement.""The technical support needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"I'm not really sure if this was the software's fault or a server issue, but a couple of years back the disks were failing on our SevOne physical server every month and the server would go down. The secondary server took over from the primary until the disk issue was resolved. That was annoying.""Software upgrades can be tricky is not easy.""The method of searching for SIP and the way to create the groups.""NMS has several areas for improvement. It should be more user-friendly inside of NMS for some of the functionality in there. It's been getting better the last version or two, but the there have been bugs in there whenever I've gone to new versions.""One area that requires a little bit of improvement is the topology of visualization and being able to map out connections, end-to-end. It's able to do that, but it's not as impressive as we would like it to be. We would like to understand the different interface types and the connection points better, through the visualization. Heatmaps also need further development.""We previously have had discussions on some reporting enhancements. So, we raised a feature request, which was delivered from SevOne.""I would like to see live maps as an added feature. Also, build modules on AI and EML to provide better data insights that would proactively tell us what we should be looking after.""The GUI: both the dashboard/user view and the admin tool."

More IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) Cons →

"The product has been using the same GUI for many years.""In the future, it would be nice to see color coding. It is just black and white.""It would be better if they offered a hybrid version like My Cloud Control.""The average person would probably find Wireshark hard to use. When I first installed it, I was overwhelmed by all the data it was shooting out. It doesn't make sense until you start doing some research and figure out what everything means. It isn't the most user-friendly tool. It just provides so much information.""Wireshark could be improved by adding more monitoring features.""You need good network connectivity to download during the setup, otherwise, it might take a while.""Sometimes I need to use tcpdump when I need to check the packets on CLI.""The solution’s user interface could be improved."
