Oracle's support is not that good for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Their support is expensive, and I don't think you're getting your bang for your buck. For the cloud product, they do give you support, but everything is online and you might not get somebody. I would give Oracle's support for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne about a 6.5 on a scale of one to 10.

Has shown limitations in digital capabilities but has supported key processes over time
JD Edwards World's real-time data analytics is very limited, and while it can be helpful, it is not the same as EnterpriseOne. I am currently using inventory management in JD Edwards World. I am satisfied with the security architecture in JD Edwards World; it is very easy and user-friendly. Even in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, it is very adaptable and you have role-based security without needing additional software. I am totally satisfied with the security part of JD Edwards World, but you must just know what you are doing. I am currently using on-premises JD Edwards World. My final mark for JD Edwards World is about five; I think it was good for when it lasted, quite a few years ago, but it is very outdated now. Therefore, the way to go is EnterpriseOne or cloud. For current usage, I would rate JD Edwards World maybe a five. My overall review rating for JD Edwards World is five out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is highly configurable. You have a choice in terms of how you want to run it. You can run it in your own data center, in a private cloud, or in a public cloud. The choice is really up to the customer."
"Everything's under one umbrella and so that's why we're going to JD Edwards; it's just incredible for efficiency."
"The tool is valuable for its rich set of functionalities and stability. The solution is stable. The customer service and support is good."
"The navigation interface is user-friendly and easy to understand for any user. Many new employees who have joined our organization from different companies, having worked with SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite, have given positive feedback about JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. They particularly appreciate the types of reports, MIS capabilities, and how quickly and easily they can extract data. According to senior management from other organizations, these features are faster, easier, and more convenient than SAP."
"The most valuable feature is the user experience, where you can create your own queries, it sends you alerts, and it's very flexible."
"We did not have any problems with the scalability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne."
"JDE is one of the best software, which satisfies client requirements easily."
"The solution has provided our company with very strong procurement and supply chain abilities, and our clients are very happy."
"A global system with a local presence and intercontinental communication, it provides us with a common language, product, and customer base."
"The solution's UI is user friendly and has good performance and good search facility."
"The solution has very good stability; there aren't any bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"JD Edwards World is a good ERP with high security from the application design."
"Overall, its flexibility and technological capabilities make it very valuable for my customers."
"The pricing is okay. It's not overly expensive."
"We have been satisfied with how it works and how stable and reliable it is."
"We've found the initial setup to be easy."

Cons

"Some modules are expensive and there is an annual software maintenance cost as well."
"Customer / Supplier Relationship."
"I would like to see improvements in the analytical part of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, specifically in the business intelligence aspect, to enhance its capabilities compared to bespoke solutions."
"This is one area that could be improved -- the features that can be changed to fit your own organization."
"Localization features are critical for all regions. Improving these features in various countries and markets is essential to meet customer needs."
"If it's complex, or there's some debate on whether the item is a bug or functioning as designed, it does take quite some time to get through that, and from a customer perspective, sometimes you have to be pretty persistent."
"The only issue I see is Oracle's lack of focus on the product. When the sales team calls us, they try to promote OCI more than JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. They don't even talk about it. I feel there's no focus from Oracle Corporation themselves. The salespeople either don't know about it or don't talk about it. When they have something new, they only talk about EBS or OCI. This gives a feeling that there's no interest from Oracle. We don't see much new functionality being released or announced in the roadmap."
"We’d like to see technical support integrated within the application so that it is not required to raise additional incidents or do manual outreach to support."
"JDE World is more stable than JDE EnterpriseOne. For JDE EnterpriseOne, the Integrity part will generate some errors; since they have low Integrity, we get some duplicate records in the accumulator table."
"Its end of life is already announced, so I don't expect lots of improvement coming from the product anywhere anymore."
"The user interface in JD Edwards World is very crude; I press a button to get to the application, unlike EnterpriseOne, which offers a more finished experience with dashboards."
"There are a lot of new technologies coming out and JD Edwards World could improve by having better integration with other databases. The integration with the databases and applications should be in real-time, such as with Oracle."
"There is no support from Oracle here. We only have third-party support."
"The interfaces need to be more user-friendly. For example, our purchaser had difficulties updating prices as it required updating line by line."
"The flexibility and ability to integrate external applications are increasingly vital."
"The integration technology could be stronger at this point."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is very high. Even though the license is perpetual yet you have to get the maintenance. Since we pay using Pesos, it's very expensive."
"JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has a lot of value for the money. The implementation cost and license cost are quite reasonable compared to other solutions, such as Oracle EBS or SAP."
"More transparent pricing of the software is needed."
"EnterpriseOne is cost-effective for large enterprises."
"The pricing is an "arm-and-a-leg". This keeps the customers away from going for J.D. Edwards."
"The maintenance of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is expensive and overall the solution is expensive. Most enterprise operation solution is expensive."
"It depends on the number of users and the modules that you want to buy. It is licensed on a perpetual license basis. You buy the license costs upfront, and then there is maintenance for support that you pay every year, which is typically about 20%."
"In terms of pricing, we have a lot of problems because companies here don't have enough resources to acquire the product. So we need to evaluate the price according to our demographic...The license cost is around 1,00,000 euros."
"You have to pay for a license, and the license cost is calculated based on the number of users you have."
"The price of JD Edwards World is reasonable. Since it is a legacy solution the price has been reduced."
"The pricing for JD Edwards World could be more affordable."
