We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Real-time data makes for a single version of the truth.""It integrates with third-party applications such as Google Drive and Excel,""There is a seamless integration with SAP S4HANA which is really valuable to our organization and its functions. Since the data is stored in the same ecosystem, it creates a simple process of building dashboards, without making the process cumbersome The Analytics Cloud provides standardized templates and storage options, making it easy to plug into existing structures. We're utilizing custom stories that have already been developed, streamlining the development process. It serves as a convenient starting point and contributes to the overall ease of development. Another advantage is that it doesn't provide the same level of calculation power as Power BI and Tableau. SAP Analytics Cloud emphasizes pushing analytics back into the database, recommending data manipulation and preparation outside of the platform. This approach is seen as an advantage, as it allows for more robust data handling.""One feature I've found most valuable is discovery.""Planning is the most valuable feature of the product because it's integrated and that means we don't need to rely on an independent planning environment.""The most valuable feature of the tool is machine learning.""The reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and visualization are the most valuable.""It is a comprehensive BI solution that provides reporting, planning, and predictive analytics in one solution. You don't have to buy three different products. It is very flexible. It can be implemented very quickly. It has a lot of out-of-the-box scenarios that you can use for quick deployment."

"The alert generation feature also helps in sending out ad hoc messages to the business users if business thresholds have been crossed.""Great for handling complex data models.""I believe that the possibilities for exploring data and formulating visual results are quite good because it allows the business analyst to have different perspectives on the data.""Quick deployment to dashboards and analytics features (using SAS Visual Statistics and Enterprise Guide). Easy to create a simple forecast and discover business insights using segmentation tools.""It provided the capability to visualize a bunch of data in an organized way.""We've found the product to be stable and reliable.""It's relatively simple to create basic dashboards and reports.""It integrates well with SAS, making it simple and quick for developers."

Cons
"It seems like there's a problem with the tool's licenses. If there are a lot of users, like 200, who only use the solution once a year, paying for a full-year license for each user is expensive. There's no option for users who only use the solution occasionally.""Some algorithms are complex and can't be processed by just tagging the data and expecting results.""Live Data Models are very slow and the setup can be improved, with tools such as Cloud Connector being inbuilt into SAP Analytics Cloud. Likewise, we need to write application code from scratch, rather than tweaking existing code, as we might with Excel macros. Moreover, when using responsive pages, the widgets get adjusted according to the mobile screen. As a result, when I place two or three KPI tiles, they can only be viewed tile-by-tile. We want to see the full dashboard on the mobile screen and zoom in to click on a particular section of the dashboard and go further into that. But displaying tile-by-tile makes it very annoying and the upper management using this dashboard might not be aware there are any more tiles to view.""They need more support for more languages, Python for example.""SAC, which is the cloud version, lost some good features from the previous planning product, like BPC or BPS.""SAP could add more templates to the platform.""An additional feature that needs to be added to SAP Analytics Cloud is exporting because right now, you can only export to PDF and PowerPoint. It would be good to have multiple export options, for example, to Excel and other apps. Pricing is an area for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud, apart from exporting.""There is no direct connector from SAP to Redshift, so we are required to use a third-party product that was recommended by SAP."

More SAP Analytics Cloud Cons →

"I haven't come across any missing features.""The solution is a little weak at the front end.""The licensing ends up being more expensive than other options.""Colours used on report objects""The installation process can be a bit complex.""The deployment isn't smooth. Deploying Visual Analytics on the cloud takes a lot of work, or you can use some providers that give you SAS as a service. For example, there is a provider called SaasNow. They host SAS Visual Analytics and the license. You can buy the license and deploy it there without the hassle of installation because deploying the software isn't easy.""There is a need for coding when it comes to digital reporting which can be intimidating.""SAS Visual Analytics could be more user-friendly."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the SAS Visual Analytics solution.

A Senior Manager at a consultancy says, “The solution is very stable. The scalability is good. The usability is quite good. It's quite easy to learn and to progress with SAS from an end-user perspective.

PeerSpot user Robert H., Co-owner at Hecht und Heck GmbH, comments, “What I really love about the software is that I have never struggled in implementing it for complex business requirements. It is good for highly sophisticated and specialized statistics in the areas that some people tend to call artificial intelligence. It is used for everything that involves visual presentation and analysis of highly sophisticated statistics for forecasting and other purposes.

Andrea D., Chief Technical Officer at Value Partners, explains, “The best feature is that SAS is not a single BI tool. Rather, it is part of an ecosystem of tools, such as tools that help a user to develop artificial intelligence, algorithms, and so on. SAS is an ecosystem. It's an ecosystem of products. We've found the product to be stable and reliable. The scalability is good.”
