We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"This product is extremely user-friendly and it is capable of performing large-scale archive/backup (five+ years worth). It is easy to store, maintain, and check backups.""The most valuable features are the replication to the cloud and the deduplication.""It is very stable.""The product provides instant and virtual standbys.""The most valuable features are that it is able to restore quickly and that it is able to virtually restore on Hyper-V.""It is easy to configure.""There are many backup options available in this solution. For example, you are able to do backups of servers, email, OST files, and users. This is a complete backup solution which is very good.""The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is the initiative UI and the logs are clear and detailed that are generated when there has been an issue or failure on the user's system. We only have to log onto the client's system to retrieve the information. It is possible to precisely identify the problem's location. The system categorizes and logs every step in a structured manner, selectively displaying only the essential logs. However, to view a comprehensive log, one must access the line machine log and examine the actual client for detailed logging."

"The ability to create a replica of all virtual machines is a great feature.""The automatic backup and replication features are invaluable, saving us time and resources by automating routine backup tasks and ensuring data protection without manual intervention.""The solution offers reliable copying and fast recovery.""We have been able to set up a failover site that has replicas of our critical VMs.""The main advantage from our perspective is the ability to plug this solution into an existing infrastructure on a cheap device and point the backup at the server targets and configure the backup options in a simple menu; linking to a cheap cloud resource for a simple solution for off-site storage.""The backup for physical machines and replication for the virtual environment are the most valuable aspects.""It is easy to manage all of the individual backup jobs, check the status every day, and it can even send an email to keep us informed.""Technical support responds very quickly."

Cons
"Licensing can be quite difficult.""The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial.""We are looking at scaling up to the cloud and using immutable copies on the cloud. Arcserve UDP 8.0 does have the immutable feature supporting AWS, but I'm looking for multi-cloud support. So, I'm waiting for Arcserve to release that in the next release.""A lot of their new technologies are not very good.""The tool doesn't provide cloud integration in India.""Arcserve UDP is in the middle range of complexity. The interface can be developed a little bit more to be user-friendly.""We could not go into granular details of retrieving backup information.""The time to backup servers that sit in DMZ must be improved."

More Arcserve UDP Cons →

"Space is always an issue.""What must be improved is the response time to technical support requests.""The only thing we have encountered that we would like to see improved in the future are error messages. They could be more detailed and helpful, without the need to send logs to support. Failing that, the part of the log related to the error could be displayed alongside the error message, so I can investigate the error without looking through all of those logs that I'm able to download.""While the solution provides mostly what we need, it would be ideal if there were some additional feature capabilities for the API.""More statistic options would be a great feature.""An additional feature that would be appreciated is disaster recovery automation.""Automatic updates do not work, and every update has to be done manually.""In the future, I would like to see support for backing up data to more cloud platforms, besides Amazon."
