Good for asset discovery and secure remote connection
It's a very good solution for what it promises The main improvement has been in continuous threat detection. So far, it's been a good experience with network monitoring capabilities. It's mostly utilized for asset discovery and secure remote connection. The main advantage of Claroty, when…

Fabulous flexibility - supporting a vast variety of data sources including IoT protocols. Very stable and well supported. Scalable to many thousands of values per second.
I've deployed so many times that the initial setup is straightforward, but I would say that for someone who is totally inexperienced in Linux, it can be a little time consuming. If you understand a little about Linux, then it's no problem. A full system can easily be configured in two hours but it took two days the first time I did it. If you're not a technical person you can still install it but it will likely take some time. As an example, configuring SNMP trapping into Zabbix needs configuration outside of Zabbix itself. This is not complex, but can slow down the process for inexperienced installers.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product helps mitigate potential threats, especially if its users have signature rules. The product also provides alerts."
"The main advantage of Claroty, when compared to its competitors, is integrated secure remote access."
"It provides high scalability, alerting, notification, templating, and end-to-end security."
"We have found that Zabbix is more easy to use than other applications."
"The calculations part is the most valuable."
"The pricing of the product is reasonable."
"We use it to monitor and manage our servers."
"Zabbix has a roadmap and they are continuously and frequently adding new features."
"We use Zabbix to monitor our organization's IT infrastructure and workstations. We don't use Microsoft Intune since it's expensive. The tool's real-time alerting system has proved crucial for us, particularly when a new device joins a network that is not one of our own devices. It notifies us about the presence of this new device, allowing us to investigate further. Additionally, it alerts us about disk usage, memory usage, and the software installed on the machine."
"We like the user-interface for this solution, which makes it an easy to use tool."

Cons

"Claroty Platform could improve the pricing to get more acceptability in the market."
"The product's integration capabilities are an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The only improvement I would suggest, revolves around its AI and ML capabilities."
"The event correlation could be better."
"In the next release, I'm hoping for features targeted towards larger users with more customizable options. Despite this, I think pre-canned reports that can be used straight out of the box would be beneficial rather than having to configure each report individually. Additionally, a deeper dive into software configurations on the machines would be useful, although I understand there may be challenges in implementing this due to scripting requirements. More documentation would also be appreciated."
"The GUI could be more intuitive. Also, we'd like streaming telemetry. Zabbix might have this feature, but I haven't seen it yet. It took us a long time to get started because the documentation isn't very descriptive. We had to go through various sources like YouTube and forums to get this solution working."
"The solution needs to add features for finding loopholes or problems and their root causes."
"I would like to remotely connect to the computer, and Zabbix doesn't have this capability."
"Its UI should be improved. They did some improvements in version 5, but it could benefit from some more work. Its integrations should also be improved. They've been active for one year, and they seem to have noticed that. It has new integrations, but it could benefit from more integrations. As far as I know, there is no model to push statistics, metrics, or events towards Zabbix. This type of API isn't yet there, whereas some other tools provide an API for this."
"There is a bit of a learning curve during installation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Zabbix is open-source so if one wishes to implement it in-house, they must have qualified professionals to set up and optimize databases, Linux/Unix OS, PHP, Apache, and depending on what is monitored, a full-stack network and systems administrator may be needed."
"It is open source. If you want to have a subscription or official support, you can pay for it. They have different plans, which are not that expensive. The plans are based on per monitoring server, not per monitored equipment. So, it is not at all expensive, and you can also live without the support if you want a cheaper option."
"Zabbix and Grafana are both open source products, we only needed to go to their website and download the application and we began to use them. The solutions are free."
"This solution is completely open-source, so it is quite affordable."
"We purchased Zabbix for a good price, including support"
"I was using the free, Community Edition."
"There are no licenses."
"It’s free of cost."

Nagios vs. Zabbix vs. PRTG vs. Spiceworks vs. Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor
I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want…
