About me
With over 17 years of professional IT experience, Chris is a certified expert in managing and implementing technology solutions resulting in optimized and scalable operational environments.
In one role, he provided direction of daily operations while managing special projects to include: data migration, infrastructure upgrades, virtualization initiatives, Cloud Computing assessments, and system software upgrades/patching. His vision successfully transformed a datacenter from using outdated technology with a minimal virtual footprint into a high availability, blade architecture virtualizing over 70% of the legacy environment. He presented this vision to upper management, technical leads, and technical managers to obtain funding and create buy-in while providing a roadmap for achieving scalability previously unattainable. His work on proposals, technical presentations, and technical documentation has played a key role in contract wins, management sign-off, and improved customer relations. Recently, his role expanded to head up a newly formed Data Services group. He is responsible for marketing and business development activities associated with this new group.
From a hands-on technical perspective, Chris has extensive Oracle DBA experience with successfully implementing complex Oracle technologies to include Advanced Replication, Dataguard, Real Application Clusters, GoldenGate, and Materialized Views. His troubleshooting skills for both performance issues and system failures have greatly enhanced the operational performance and availability at his places of work. From the on-set of his DBA experience, he has served in a lead capacity, providing guidance on technical decisions and mentoring more junior personnel throughout his career. He has expanded his technical areas of expertise to include Oracle Exadata, Oracle Application Server, VMware, Blade/SAN Administration, and Unix Administration from both a hands-on and management perspective.
