Both the firewalls will handle the traffic very smoothly and is
inter-operable. Considering the user friendliness and ease of Operation i
will recommend fortigate. Also if we compare sophos with fortigate,
fortigate is more stable product than sophos.

The bandwidth that requires, depends on the application where it runs... like data center switches, access switches, distribution switches or core switches. so it requires the knowledge of throughput, and ofcourse a vision of 5 years ahead...
