About me

I'm a Network Security Specialist and experienced System Administrator with 5 years of professional experience installing, configuring and administering hosts, network devices and information security systems. My expertise is in Linux (RHEL or CentOS and Ubuntu), virtualization (VMware vSphere) and network security (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Vulnerability Assessment and Log Management).

My current position at CGI specializes in Log Management. My recent experience includes administering Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and comprehensive security products. These include commercial products (Tripwire, RSA, Cisco, Sourcefire), open source products (Snort, Security Onion) and custom-built systems. I have received exceptional reviews from supervisors and managers for the quality of my work. My aptitude in this field has been recognized while attending military courses, and I have been awarded the ATIS QL5 Top Student Award (2014), POET Top Student Award (2011) and the CFSCE Academic Achievement Award (2011).

I'm fortunate to have a great interest in the field that I work in, and enjoy refining my skills and experimenting with new products in my home lab. At work, I am committed to increasing efficiency through scripting and automation, and increasing quality by performing independent research and consulting white papers to determine best practices. I am also meticulous when it comes to documenting changes and producing instructions for others.

During evenings and weekends, I am completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing and Information Systems. My technical education includes courses in Network Security (SANS401, Snort, SSFIPS, RSA-SA), Network Administration (ICND1, ICND2) and System Administration (RHSAI, RHSAII, Server2012, SQL2012, vSphere-ICM51). I am also certified as a VMware Certified Associate in Data Center Virtualization and a Snort Certified Professional.
