While learning computers as they applied to the law office environment I became enchanted. While still working in the paralegal field I began to study the many aspects of computing. I quickly realized computers were well-suited for tracking data so I focused my studies on database design and development using Paradox and DB III and IV. In the next five years I put greater emphasis on studying networking and servers while continuing my database development studies. Discovering that programming was at the heart of both servers and databases, I started studying Visual Studio, C++, C#, and Visual Basic.

In 2006 I changed career paths, as I felt I was ready to venture out on my own. I formed a network solutions company called XCOM Network Solutions based in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area. For several years I designed, developed and maintained mid-sized networks for doctors offices, law firms, and manufacturing companies. I picked up a lot of new skillsets.

In 2010 I relocated to South Carolina to be closer to our four granddaughters. Now, instead of operating my own business, I am working as a systems administrator for a great family oriented business. In this position, I have remained innovative and continue to attain new skillsets.
