About me
Christina’s (Tina) desire to become an accountant came at an early age. When she was young, her parents owned department stores in Indiana. They operated for over 20 years and were champions of small business in their community. It was the center of her family’s life. She learned many hard lessons by watching her parents go through good times and bad. That life experience gave her a appreciation for those who have the courage to be entrepreneurs and empathy for the emotions that go along with it. It’s not just business.
Tina earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with High Distinction majoring in accounting from Indiana University Northwest and then continued on to get a Masters of Science in Taxation from DePaul University in Chicago. Today she holds active CPA licenses in both Florida and Indiana but can accept work throughout the United States via reciprocity. Her background includes working as an internal auditor for a publicly traded steel mill and a hospital system, as well as a tax consultant at a national CPA firm. She has spent a significant amount of time traveling throughout the US and abroad, learning from diverse people and places. She now lives in a Panama City where she enjoys spending time with her daughter exploring the historic towns and backwaters of Florida's Great Northwest.
To build on her prior experience, Tina has expanded her knowledge in the healthcare sector. She recently earned the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation from the Healthcare Financial Management Association. In addition, she graduated with honors from an intensive medical coding program.
