I used a computer for the first time at the age of 12. The next year I was able to convince my mother to buy me a Commodore VIC-20 computer which had a whopping 2,048 bytes of RAM, displayed four colours (CMYK), and an external cassette deck which allowed programs to be stored to and loaded from, audio cassette tapes. After all of these years, I still love using computers. As a young man working for a steel company in the early 90's, I had a dumb terminal and a modem at home which I used to connect to work during the times that I was on call for 24 hrs each day for a week at a time.
