We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The EPM is the most valuable feature.""The ETL itself was pretty useful and it's integrated in the tenant itself. So the Olap service technology was impressive to me. In order to extract that and load it in the tube in the same tenant or the same tool that was something magnificent because I actually missed this in SEB. SEB requires another tool, and you have to integrate all the tools together. But for Jedox, it was in the one tool.""The Excel interface is designed to retrieve data from the database and send it back, which is a significant advantage.""The main strength of Jedox lies in mastering the navigation, especially the Excel add-in.""The ETL function simplifies many tasks.""The solution is very versatile.""The ease of reporting is one of Jedox's most valuable features.""The customer porting is the most valuable feature."

"The most valuable features of Oracle OBIEE are ease of use, the graphical user interface is simple to understand, and the reports can be done without problems. There are many tutorials and training materials available if needed.""The most valuable features of Oracle OBIEE are the ease of logging in, the dashboard, and showing the problems in the data. Additionally, the reports are well integrated and it has good technology.""In terms of features, everything is good. It is also stable and scalable.""The main features of this solution are that it is easy to use, intuitive, and user-friendly. When I retrieve the data from the database it is in a very raw form, then when I use the Oracle Report Builder it has advanced intelligence features to allow me to view and make changes to the data easily.""The security is good. For example, we can implement column-level security.""Oracle OBIEE is a scary and stable product since it is a strong and well-created tool... In short, the solution is stable since it works properly every day.""The primary reason for using OBIEE is connectivity with Oracle E-Business Suite. It makes it easy to connect with our Oracle E-Business Suite. There are the standard dashboards available, which we sometimes use, and now we are looking for customized dashboards.""The most valuable feature is the ability to set up the automated delivery of reports."

Cons
"Jedox should improve the design and server issues.""The solution needs to improve its support. The visualization in Microsoft BI is more modern and comfortable than Jedox's. I would expect something similar with the solution.""Visualization is something they need to improve. We have already told them about this, and they should be working on it.""There is not much training for Jedox.""From a development perspective, there's room for improvement in the area called the designer, where you actually build your reports to make it easier to manage the process.""More emphasis is needed on the availability of the learning aspect of the solution. Because unless you take up their course that enables you to be an expert in creating the report, you must seek help.""There is room for improvement in the scalability. It is a very massive tool. It's not easy to just build everything yourself.""I don't find it particularly user-friendly."

More Jedox Cons →

"The drawback with the tool is that though it is well-created, its users are under-trained to use it.""It needs a better security management system.""Its overall organization as an analytical tool, the layout of OBIEE, is not very good.""There are a lot of aspects of Oracle OBIEE that are exceptionally complicated, make things unnecessarily difficult for everyone who uses it. In terms of the integrations, Oracle needs to improve a little more, but I believe that they have tried to capture all those issues. The issues we are facing in the Oracle OBIEE 12C versions, in the Oracle Analytical Server Center or Analytical Cloud versions, Oracle has managed to overcome the challenges.""While it is a user-friendly, data-driven tool, the data modeling should be easier to use.""The solution needs to be easier to scale.""I would like to see Machine Learning included in this solution.""Oracle products have a lot of complications...Oracle has a history of not really providing great support."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "If you are using SAP, then you will have to take an SAP Connector license. The license across the tool is paying for the people who are using it as an admin or as a normal user. They can work out those costs in a manner that can help. This can also be a point of improvement where they can work out the costing, and the developers have a specific licensing cost. The normal users, who are going to do probably data entry or just going to view the dashboard, can have a separate license cost."
  • "We paid a one-time fee, which included product purchase, licensing, and first-time implementation. We are paying for the maintenance regularly."
  • "Excellent value for money."
  • "The solution's pricing is specific to your requirements."
  • "The product’s pricing will not be suitable for setting up a small solution."
  • "Jedox was a bit cheaper compared to Calumo."

  • "Oracle products are extremely expensive."
  • "This was not an expensive product for us, although the price varies depending on conditions for each company."
  • "The cost of this solution is a little bit high compared with other products like Zoho, so reducing it would make OBIEE more competitive."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sandeep V., Process System Engineer at a comms service provider, tells us, “This solution is very easy for people who are building ad-hoc things. It's an enterprise solution so it can be deployed for a lot of users. There are some great new features that come with the 12c like data visualization, desktop BI Publisher, automation, and interactive dashboards. The product has good features. “

A user who is a CEO at a consultancy relates, “The most valuable feature is the visualization. The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there. A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.”

A user who is a Principal Business Intelligence Architect at a computer software company suggests, "It is very biased towards Oracle infrastructure. One of the major red flags we have at the moment against Oracle is that it doesn't support deployment on other cloud providers. We're quite heavily vested in AWS as our infrastructure, and Oracle is yet to formally support deploying on those virtual infrastructure instances. That's quite disappointing, and it also cuts them out of over 70% of the market."
