It is pretty much scalable as you can add different clusters to it. It depends on the license type. However, in general, it is scalable.

Spotfire is highly scalable, and that is one of its significant advantages. It is not just scalable; it is also straightforward to enhance its scalability. When I began working with Spotfire in Turkey, there were only a couple of international users. I worked on four projects, with two focusing on integration for small-sized customers due to the company's scale. I would rate its scalability as a nine out of ten.
View full review »This solution is easily scalable by adding extra machines to the cluster as needed, as long as you have the appropriate hardware requirement available.
This is a scalable solution if you're not trying to customize it too much. If you can use what it comes with out of the box, I think it's very scalable and very simple to use. It's when you start having to make custom coding adjustments and whatnot, that it could be a pain because then only one person can fix it typically, and that's the person who initially worked on the coding.
View full review »The scalability is good. It's not a problem to expand it. You can do all kinds of reporting, and as often as you want. It's very fast.
We have about 50 planned users on the product right now.
At the present time, we don't have any plans to upgrade this system, however, we have a plan after the new year, or 2023, to look at everything. We might look at usage then.

I think scalability is pretty good. I've seen customers running thousands of reports. For reaching good scalability, it also depends on your network architecture and whether you host it on cloud or not. I would say there's nothing in the software that really worries me, but you can always mess it up.

I’ve worked with deployments and upgrades at small organizations and all the way up to 20,000+ user organizations. Spotfire can be scaledeasily, but requires planning and is dependent on the underlying technology (as with any software).

View full review »From a scalability standpoint, I would say it's pretty fantastic. Not that Spotfire itself is massively scalable. It's a pretty impressive analytical tool for developing visualizations and sharing them across the enterprise with your organization or business group.
TIBCO has built out an entire analytical platform. You can use Spotfire to connect to data sources, but let's say you wanted to stream data, in real-time; in this case, you may be working with almost a terabyte of data a day. Presently, there's really not any analytical application out there on the market that's going to do that very well, but you can scale with a data stream from TIBCO, which helps you access your data in real-time.
It really doesn't matter how much data you're working with, but they also have the business enterprise and TIBCO data analytics. TIBCO data analytics just opens up the door for any kind of truly advanced analytics that you're working with. You can insert real machine learning code right into your analysis.
We have not encountered any scalability issues, but we are only a small implementation for three to five analysts.

View full review »The product is very scalable. If server resources are running low, we can spin up a virtual server and create a new node to help share the burden.
View full review »In terms of its ability to handle a big volume of data, it's highly scalable. But in my organization in which Spotfire was used mainly as a reporting tool, we found it a bit challenging to scale up our report configuration. For example, with MS Access, you create a master layout which can be used for several projects or customers. In Spotfire, we ended up having to create separate master layouts for every project. When there was a request to modify the report layout, it was a tedious task.
View full review »They have new version releases twice a year, which is hard to keep up with the latest version since it requires migration efforts from the IT admins. If you do not keep up to date, in a few years Spotfire will no longer support your outdated version. Another issue is that once you convert and old version analysis to a new version, you can no longer save it as an old version, but that is rarely the case to be backward compatible.
