We have clients with different use cases. We have a customer who is a service provider who sells services in the cloud and Kubernetes. Our clients have cloud and on-premises deployments.

A stable and scalable solution with great integration with VMware, but requires a lot of knowledge of Linux and better support
Pros and Cons
- "The most important feature of Tanzu Mission Control is its integration with the other products, especially with ESX and vSAN. This is a strong part of Tanzu Mission Control. In other solutions, such as OpenShift or Kubernetes, you can find similar features, but they don't have similar integration. With Tanzu Mission Control, you get a total solution with only one provider. You have the integration with the infrastructure, virtualization of networking, and virtualization of storage. You have a natural integration, and you don't have the problem of integrating it with different products or providers. Sometimes, different companies have good integration, but it is not always guaranteed. For example, many years ago, Cisco and VMware were good partners in networking, but when VMware started to sell ESX, the relationship was broken. This is the problem that you can face when you are using solutions from two different companies."
- "It is not easy to build a solution with containers. It has a graphical user interface, but you need to have a lot of knowledge of Linux and how to work in the command mode. Its support can also be improved. Currently, its biggest disadvantage is that it is a new product, and the clients prefer to go for a solution that has been in the market for a long time. There are not that many people who know this product."

824,053 professionals have used our research since 2012.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Its stability is good. I didn't find any major problem that broke the solution and impacted the services.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Its scalability is good. I didn't find any issues with its scalability. One of our clients is a big company here, but if you compare it with an American company, it would be considered a small company.
How are customer service and support?
Their support is not good, but it is also not bad. The support is normally outside of America. Sometimes, it is in Europe. There are people with a lot of VMware experience in Europe but not in America. However, VMware is building its support.
How was the initial setup?
Its initial setup is not very easy. When you work with containers, you work in Linux. It has a graphical user interface, but you need to have a lot of knowledge of Linux and working in the command mode. It is not easy to build a solution with containers.
Its implementation takes a long time. It took us 90 days for one customer and 60 days for another customer.
What about the implementation team?
You need to connect it with other parts of the infrastructure. We have ten people who are into networking and storage.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Our clients evaluate other free products. Two of our clients have a strong relationship with VMware. They don't evaluate other products.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate VMware Tanzu Mission Control a seven out of ten.

Plenty of customization, easy to use, and responsive technical support
Pros and Cons
- "VMware Tanzu Mission Control has many valuable features, such as ease of use and customization."
- "The solution could improve by having better integration with other solutions such as HPE."
What is our primary use case?
I use VMware Tanzu Mission Control as a centralized management platform.
What is most valuable?
VMware Tanzu Mission Control has many valuable features, such as ease of use and customization.
The most important feature of VMware Tanzu Mission Control is the integration with vSphere because it allows easy implementation of the solution into the development cycle. Additionally, you can run the containers on the virtual machine in the same cluster.
Many people in organizations need to change the monolithic way that they develop programs. However, with this solution, you are able to integrate both monolithic and virtual machines. The new way is with microservices and people who have worked in the development for a long time it can be difficult to learn the new modern techniques of development.
What needs improvement?
The solution could improve by having better integration with other solutions such as HPE.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using VMware Tanzu Mission Control for approximately one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
VMware Tanzu Mission Control is scalable. You can increase the cluster size with other solutions, such as vSphere. Additionally, if you have a version of the solution that allows integration of cloud services, such as Amazon or Microsoft Azure, you are able to integrate your on-premise clusters.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support is very good and has a fast response time. However, the level of support depends on the license contract you have with VMware.
How was the initial setup?
The installation was simple. You need to implement the console with the virtual machines, your Visor, and then you can begin to use and integrate your vCenter with all the VMware environments.
It takes approximately one day for the implementation of the console and another day for the vSphere.
What about the implementation team?
I did the implementation of the solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There are different licenses available. You have to upgrade your license if you want to scale the solution more.
What other advice do I have?
I rate VMware Tanzu Mission Control a nine out of ten.
