Answered a question: Which solution is better for setting up a data lake: Apache Hadoop or Oracle Exadata?
Hi, I will be very direct! Oracle EXADATA is an engineering system, designed for critical missions, has good processing and storage capacity, is easily scalable and being proprietary, and has a support team with great experience and availability, considering the criticality…

Answered a question: Which solution do you prefer: Oracle Exadata or Snowflake?
Exadata is by far the most appropriate fit-for-purpose solution for Dataware House, although it is expansive. But performance, scalability, and availability is the key you must consider when going to Oracle Exadata. Also, a good Field Deliver Support team to attend when…

Commented on Our downtime has significantly been reduced
FLEXPOD is more reliable solution i could find. We are running since 2012 with Cisco UCS B Servers and FAS3000 Series on both sites without MetroCluster but never went down. Since that time, not more than 10 hard drives changed (~192 TB Raw). Now we are moving on to AFF…

Answered a question: Is Veeam the best solution for my server + tape drive configuration?
I believe it is. As I can see, there are recommended specifications for Veeam Environment which is running a workload of 13 VMs. Most importantly you should understand what VMs are for. And if it is a financial company what can they afford to lose (RTO) and what time they…

About me
I have been IT since developing Accountant and Cash flaw application using FoxPro Lan edition. I worked with Novell Netware 3 and going throughout to Cisco Products, NetApp, Oracle, VMware, Red Hat. I still like programming with Python.
My first challenger was implementing a Data Center and a countrywide network to provide an ERP like application, following the best practice. I worked with SUN Microsystem SPARC for Solaris OS.
Today I have VMware base virtualized data center and the main challenge is to implement best practice to drive this every day with the process, competence, and quality service deliverables. Working with ITIL, COBIT and Prince2 make my day-by-day as a couch to the data center team.
