We performed a comparison between ESET Endpoint Protection Platform and Sophos EPP Suite based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
"The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"Impressive detection capabilities"
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."
"I feel the solution to be beneficial in respect of features that I cannot find with SSTM's."
"The product does not slow down the machine."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the protection itself, which works well for us."
"There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good."
"The pricing is good."
"The most valuable features of ESET Endpoint Antivirus are the search engine, easy firewall setup, and ransomware scans."
"They do a program where you can renew for three years. It's very reasonable, as far as the cost per year, because you can renew for three years. They will also do multiple computers, so I actually protect all my family computers, as well as my work computers, all under one license. This means I only have to deal with re-upping my license once every three years. That's the big thing for me."
"It is a scalable solution."
"The most valuable feature is the central administration and management."
"Sophos EPP Suite stands out with its user-friendly dashboard and strong web filtering features for enhanced online security."
"The performance and scalability are impressive. We can install it on various computers."
"The product is stable and has a user-friendly dashboard. It has good security features."
"So easy to deploy and use that you really don't even need their technical support."
"It is stable."
"The product interacts well with other Sophos products we have."
"The solution's most valuable aspect, for us, is the DLP portion of the product."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"The support needs improvement."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"The solution is not stable."
"After we did the initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security, we had to inform users about popups. This solution comes with an in-built software firewall and there can be some popups coming. We must tell the user not to keep, allow, or block anything. That is the main issue on the user side we have faced. The user's experience may not be as good."
"The solution can improve the modules, and it is lacking centralized management and visibility of the endpoints."
"If I were in an environment that required a large-scale deployment then I would choose another solution over ESET."
"There are some complexities if you want to manipulate the software."
"ESET should consider giving it application control."
"I don't know if it's possible but I'm always looking for better protection."
"In terms of areas for improvement, I didn't see any from ESET Endpoint Security because what's important is that it works as an antivirus solution. I do find its pricing expensive here in Hungary, so if the price could be lower, that would be good. ESET Endpoint Security is an antivirus, so it only needs to stop the virus. If it had other features, I wouldn't need it. Every program or solution has specific functions and in this case, ESET Endpoint Security is worth it as an antivirus, though in the next release of the solution, it would be better if there's some improvement in its antivirus database."
"Online security could still be improved in ESET Endpoint Antivirus because security is threatened by phishing."
"We use cloud services quite a bit. Therefore, I would like to see integration with other security tools besides endpoint so that I'm not managing different tools separately. I would prefer to have a single security solution for my laptop and for managing other security things like passwords."
"It would be ideal if the price could be lowered a little bit."
"In terms of improvement, the main challenge is setting up VPN connections."
"The management console need improvement."
"There could be an equipment inventory feature for the solution."
"Deployment and central management need to be improved."
"The solution lacks technical support."
"Sophos EPP Suite could improve by decreasing the number of resources it uses. There are other solutions that use one-fifth of the resources."
