A cost-effective solution with its own chatbot, but they need to focus on its ease of use and make it more user-friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "The chatbot that they have is most valuable. It is one of the best features because they own it, and they don't need to integrate with other parties to have a chatbot. This is one of the main features. The rest of the features are common to all RPA tools or vendors available in the market."
  • "The ease of use is the main thing on which they really have to focus. If they want to go against the giants, it should be improved in ease of use, and it should be more user-friendly. It would be helpful because everyone should be empowered irrespective of whether they know how to code or not. They should enhance its user interface and make it more intuitive."

What is our primary use case?

We are an integrator, and it is not used in our organization. It is used in our customer's organization.

The last project that we deployed for AE was last year, and I am not sure about the version we had. It was version 6 or 7.

What is most valuable?

The chatbot that they have is most valuable. It is one of the best features because they own it, and they don't need to integrate with other parties to have a chatbot. This is one of the main features. The rest of the features are common to all RPA tools or vendors available in the market.

What needs improvement?

The ease of use is the main thing on which they really have to focus. If they want to go against the giants, it should be improved in ease of use, and it should be more user-friendly. It would be helpful because everyone should be empowered irrespective of whether they know how to code or not. They should enhance its user interface and make it more intuitive.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is pretty stable. Whenever they do any release, it is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Its scalability is average. When it comes to scalability, I would rate it a three out of five. It is in between.

How are customer service and support?

They're amazing. I would rate them a five out of five.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Its initial setup is straightforward. When it comes to maintenance, generally, it is pretty straightforward, but it also depends on how complex the issue is. As long as you have used these technologies, it is straightforward. For a novice who hasn't had experience with AE and is coming from RPA tools, it is going to be a challenge.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

If you are looking for a budget solution, you can consider AE. It has all the features. Scaling it is way easier because of the cost itself.

What other advice do I have?

We are vendor-agnostic. As long as we're able to fulfill requirements, we can push any tool. If you are cost conscious, go with AE.

I would rate it a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

An easy-to-integrate solution with good customer support in place
Pros and Cons
  • "The support from the vendor is very good."
  • "It's not an intuitive tool."

What is our primary use case?

We are an IT provider solution company. So, we use AutomationEdge to deliver service to our customers, especially in the banking area. So we are helping some banks here in Colombia to automate certain banking processes, like the resources they generate every five minutes in a payment platform. Also, we use it to help with some reports and processes for their mortgage processes.

How has it helped my organization?

For us, it's a powerful tool that can integrate with MySQL. So, it's very easy to capture information for any system. The platform, Webex, creates the automation to use. Also, it integrates with Excel or another tool. So, development and planning are very, very easy with those tools. You can integrate with Macros and capture screens. It's a very easy-to-use tool.

What needs improvement?

The price is an area that needs improvement. So, our customers are comparing AutomationEdge with Microsoft Power Automate since customers see the latter as a free tool. When the customer is going to invest in the tool at the beginning, it depends, considering the costs of the license.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AutomationEdge for two years. Also, my company has a partnership with AutomationEdge. We are also resellers of the solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding scalability, it has the ability to add more licenses, especially when the customer needs more licenses. You need licenses because only one tool can run at a time. So you need to run a parallel process, and you need to have multiple licenses.

How are customer service and support?

The support from the vendor is very good. Also, we have certified people. We do first and second-level support to our customers. So, we have around 35 people to provide support.

Since they are very, very quick to answer the tickets we've raised with them, I rate the support an eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

It's pretty easy to set up the tool if you know the tool. It's not an intuitive tool. You need to know the toolbox. If you know the tool, deploying it is very easy.

We have three support consultants in the area of AutomationEdge's deployment. So, they are the people that are developing the tool. They are engineers who are also developers of the tool.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.

Speeds up execution times, stable cloud version, but installation complex
Pros and Cons
  • "The studio design is fine compared to other similar products. There is nothing extraordinary about it, but at the same time, there are not any negatives."
