An affordable tool that needs to work on improving its online forums and communities
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup was easy and straightforward."
  • "AutomationEdge's ecosystem has shortcomings and needs improvement. When we compare AutomationEdge to other RPA tools in our company, we find that it has a very minor online community."

What is our primary use case?

In my company, we use AutomationEdge for the automation of reporting in SAP.

What is most valuable?

The best thing about AutomationEdge is that most of our use cases were based on manipulating Excel sheets for reports. In our company, we found it handy when manipulating reports in Excel using AutomationEdge.

What needs improvement?

AutomationEdge's ecosystem has shortcomings and needs improvement. When we compare AutomationEdge to other RPA tools in our company, we find that it has a very minor online community. Suppose you have or run into any issues in AutomationEdge. In that case, you don't find much information on the web or Google, whereas with Automation Anywhere, UiPath, or Blue Prism, you can find a lot of information publicly available. You have to go to the vendor, the OEM, or the manufacturer if you run into an issue using AutomationEdge, which is problematic.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AutomationEdge for almost more than a year. I use the solution's latest version. I am a customer of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a pretty stable solution within a very limited scope. We didn't have any issues using the tool in our company.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In our company, we actually worked on very limited use cases with AutomationEdge, because of which we didn't run into any scalability issues. I am sure it must be a scalable tool if we were to extend its use to cater to multiple use cases.

Two people in my company use AutomationEdge.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted the solution's technical support for my customers since I work for a service provider company. If any of our customers using AutomationEdge run into any issues, we contact AutomationEdge's support team via our customers.

I rate the technical support a three and a half to four out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy and straightforward.

The solution is deployed on-premises.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Price-wise, AutomationEdge is pretty affordable, making it not so expensive when you compare this with other tools in the market. I don't know the product's actual price since my company's customers have purchased it. My company just provides the services to our customers.

What other advice do I have?

I can recommend the solution to those wanting to use it for very simple use cases. When it comes to the complex use cases requiring multiple systems, it might be a struggle if someone chooses AutomationEdge. For beginners or starters, I can recommend AutomationEdge.

AutomationEdge doesn't have a good online forum, while also not providing any support when there are multiple use cases of the product. AI features are limited in AutomationEdge compared to other similar tools.

I rate the overall solution a six and a half out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

An easy-to-integrate solution with good customer support in place
Pros and Cons
  • "The support from the vendor is very good."
  • "It's not an intuitive tool."

What is our primary use case?

We are an IT provider solution company. So, we use AutomationEdge to deliver service to our customers, especially in the banking area. So we are helping some banks here in Colombia to automate certain banking processes, like the resources they generate every five minutes in a payment platform. Also, we use it to help with some reports and processes for their mortgage processes.

How has it helped my organization?

For us, it's a powerful tool that can integrate with MySQL. So, it's very easy to capture information for any system. The platform, Webex, creates the automation to use. Also, it integrates with Excel or another tool. So, development and planning are very, very easy with those tools. You can integrate with Macros and capture screens. It's a very easy-to-use tool.

What needs improvement?

The price is an area that needs improvement. So, our customers are comparing AutomationEdge with Microsoft Power Automate since customers see the latter as a free tool. When the customer is going to invest in the tool at the beginning, it depends, considering the costs of the license.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AutomationEdge for two years. Also, my company has a partnership with AutomationEdge. We are also resellers of the solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding scalability, it has the ability to add more licenses, especially when the customer needs more licenses. You need licenses because only one tool can run at a time. So you need to run a parallel process, and you need to have multiple licenses.

How are customer service and support?

The support from the vendor is very good. Also, we have certified people. We do first and second-level support to our customers. So, we have around 35 people to provide support.

Since they are very, very quick to answer the tickets we've raised with them, I rate the support an eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

It's pretty easy to set up the tool if you know the tool. It's not an intuitive tool. You need to know the toolbox. If you know the tool, deploying it is very easy.

We have three support consultants in the area of AutomationEdge's deployment. So, they are the people that are developing the tool. They are engineers who are also developers of the tool.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.

Speeds up execution times, stable cloud version, but installation complex
Pros and Cons
  • "The studio design is fine compared to other similar products. There is nothing extraordinary about it, but at the same time, there are not any negatives."
