What is our primary use case?

At our company, we have a large number of workers that rely mainly on email to go about their daily duties, there are thousands of emails going back and forth, both inside and outside the organization. 

This solution helps us add an additional layer of protection to our Outlook email servers. Hence, they prevent us from being victims of spam and other email threats such as phishing, malicious attachments, links, etc. Check Point Anti-Spam and Email Security Software Blade has one of the highest spam protection rates - and it shows.

How has it helped my organization?

The Anti-Spam has two main approaches to fight against this threat based on either the content or the reputation of the IP. A strong characteristic of the solution is that its technology runs zero-hour and signature-based detection. Email users can report an email as phishing, and the software will run a deep evaluation to neutralize the threat. 

Since we started using it, we've seen a low rate of false positives and effectively neutralized threats that the first email server blades didn't detect in the first instance.

What is most valuable?

Since the engine is made to block by IP, domains, and reputation, we minimized the spam threats that end up in the user's mailbox. 

Security admins can configure everything with flexible settings that adapt to the different access levels we authorize based on company roles. 

The fact that the standards are kept high even though we have a big organization takes away the stress of thinking that some of these blades lower the catch rate when traffic is high, and since there are hundreds of people working with us, traffic is always high.

What needs improvement?

Since we're a big company, we're very diverse; we have employees from different parts of the world who speak numerous languages. We've seen more false positives on those emails containing data in languages other than English. Some suspicious links went through, and some harmless emails that definitely weren't threatening were blocked. There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to adapting to different languages in one environment. We're tried separate gateways management also and had to do a workaround as it would work as expected.

We are using 5400, 6700 and 6900 versions of the hardware in our company. We have approximately 1,600 users.

What is most valuable?

I find the Next-Gen firewall with SandBlast technology the most valuable feature. It is good for stopping attacks.

What needs improvement?

In terms of anti-spam and email, the pattern that they use to filter the emails could be improved. There are too many normal emails being considered spam. There should be an option to learn the different patterns specific to the organization where it is being deployed.

I have been working with this product for more than three years.

The product is stable.

The product is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support by Check Point is good.

The initial setup is a bit complex. Training the IT admins how to use, understand, and configure Check Point Anti-Spam and Email is a bit complex.

We have four people in-house for maintenance of the solution.

The pricing of Check Point Anti-Spam and Email Security is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

Check Point Anti-Spam and Email Security is a good product. For a bigger organization, they should consider that the pattern for determining spam does need to be more developed or enhanced.

The antivirus protection system checks emails and attached files before sharing to enhance safety.

The content-based anti-spam tools ensure the attached files and any information being shared among teams are safe and free from attacks. 

It prevents advanced forms of spam, including image-based and foreign language spam, using pattern-based detection. The block and allow list for anti-spam denies email offenders and only allows approved trusted users. This enhances our data safety.

What needs improvement?

The set security tools can be easily incorporated with existing servers to save time and cost of developing reliable security infrastructure. I have experienced efficient performance from this product with powerful anti-spam and email IPS protection tools. 

The technical team could improve services by ensuring when there are changes they inform enterprise users of effective upgrades. 

Poor network infrastructure and insufficient filters leak information that is not secure sometimes. 

The product features have been doing good, and I like the customer support responses when contacted.

What is our primary use case?

In our company, we use Office 365 to run the office, including email and some security tools from Microsoft. The tools did not satisfy us, so we decided to use Check Point technology. It gave us protection against spam, ransomware, and phishing, among other modern threats that travel through the email of collaborators.

In the end, the implementation through the Check Point blade is simple and easy to manage. 

We are really pleased with this tool that facilitated the management of these behaviors and problems that it generated for end users and the company itself.

How has it helped my organization?

Thanks to this tool acquired through The Check Point blade, we can have a layer of protection with the manufacturer for our email products. We can regulate and eliminate in a great way the threats that can enter through email.

The company, in turn, has managed to considerably lower the spam received, which also saturated the company's mailboxes a lot. It is a great tool that is easy to implement and with great considerations to be able to put it in the company.

What is most valuable?

Email filtering. The software can filter incoming emails to identify and block spam and other unwanted messages.

Malware detection. The software can detect and block malware attachments and links in emails. This is important for preventing malware infections and other security threats.

DLP features can help prevent sensitive information from being leaked via email. This may involve scanning emails for specific types of content or attachments and then either blocking or encrypting those emails.

What needs improvement?

Support is really an area that needs to be improved, as they currently take a very long time to resolve cases, which is not acceptable.

The support language is only English. They could expand other languages to expand more easily and help the client in a better way.

Regarding cost management, they are only accessible through a partner. This makes it more difficult to find pricing and do budgeting.

In terms of the ease of documentation, sometimes it is a bit difficult to find the correct information about the product.

We have used this solution for email protection in our company for quite some time with excellent results.

Previously, Microsoft technology was used, however, we did not like it.

We moved to Check Point.

Regarding its license issues and costs, it seems reasonable to me.

It is a solution that allows us to quickly install solutions that will protect our mail against viruses or fishing. Of the features that we most want is the ability to protect them against spam. This combination of technology helps us to protect against invasive emails. Being able to prevent these anti-spam attacks from phishing will help us to have protection and control over the identity of users and prevent our users from falling for malicious attempts.

This solution is designed well and is good for use in small and medium-sized companies as it has an analysis system for spam threats, phishing, and viruses and includes easy-to-install protection. 

This solution allows us to be effective. It is accessible, which has an economic impact on a small company. Having solutions from large companies that protect our mail system against spam threats is useful. It can help us offer a solution that can maintain secure communication without having to worry about a million-dollar investment.

Check Point offers us flexibility when it comes to customizing the configurations that we want to manage, thus allowing us to meet the specific needs of our company. It can be customized in such a way that it allows us to block certain unwanted emails, such as emails from a specific sender, domains, or email addresses, generating an email policy that meets the needs of our institution and being efficient, fast, and secure.

What needs improvement?

From my perspective, a possible improvement for the solution would be to be able to implement artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to improve the accuracy of detecting spam and malicious emails that are constantly arriving. This would allow us a better adapt to new techniques. New analysis techniques on spam, phishing, or viruses would give us greater security by establishing standards and real-time analysis using AI.

Blocking the accurately identified spammers and source points has been effective.

Blocking the spammers through IP addresses and identifying sender/source points ensure there is no false detection. All the identified spammers are correct in almost 99% of cases.

SMTP and POP3 traffic is completely checked for any unauthorized entry and blockage of any suspicious entrant to secure the system instantly.

What needs improvement?
