Overall, Cisco IOS is a great solution.

The product’s dashboard is not good enough.

To deploy the product, we must acquire the equipment and have the license to use it. We need one IT engineer to deploy and maintain the solution.

We pay a yearly licensing fee for the product. The licensing fee is expensive.

Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

On-premises

We primarily use the solution for the VPN for work after COVID. 

We've been using it since Covid and it has been very stable. The troubleshooting is easy and overall the solution overall is pretty good. 

The solution has a variety of useful features. 

We have been able to restrict certain types of usage. Users need to meet certain criteria in order to sign in.

It's a very good VPN product. 

The product is very stable. 

It can easily scale. 

The product has been stable. I have no notes in terms of areas of improvement. 

The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. I'd rate the reliability ten out of ten.

Cisco ASA VPN device with the 8.4(5) image and ASDM 7.11. This device meets the requirements for FIPS 140-2 cryptographic requirements for federal agencies. The purpose of the device is that it ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information between networks. The device is best used between different locations offering secure communications for users, clients (DMZ), and partners (DMZ). Cisco has been in the business for creating borderless networks for some time. Overall performance and features of the device are great. It does take a little time to get used to the commands, as they are a little different from the Cisco IOS router but not as different as another vendor like 3com now, HP. The product can be used for remote workforce connectivity, especially for companies with many users who want to work from home.

The product's most valuable features are security, stability, and troubleshooting capabilities. 

Cisco IOS SSL VPN should improve its pricing. 

I have been using the product for ten years. 

The stability depends on the license and the product model we use on our premises. I rate it a ten out of ten. 

My company has 50 customers for the product. 

The tool's technical support is good. 

Cisco IOS SSL VPN's deployment is easy. Its deployment time can vary depending on the size of the company. It may take around one or two hours for a small company with just one or two users. However, larger enterprises with around fifty people could take one or two days. The deployment time is not excessively long, but it depends on how the servers are managed. You would need a ten-member team to handle it. 

I rate the overall product a ten out of ten. It enables everyone to work remotely, adding value for the company and its users. Additionally, the tool offers security, high availability, and stability. 

On-premises

I use Cisco IOS SSL VPN to secure my connections, whereby the communication between my computer and my company's server is encrypted, and the information is air-gapped.

Cisco IOS SSL VPN is an easy-to-use and straightforward solution.

Cisco IOS SSL VPN should add a sensor that can authenticate with a fingerprint instead of having to type the username and password every time.

I have been using Cisco IOS SSL VPN for one year.

Sometimes, the solution gets disconnected. I do not like that if you're not plugged in or if you lock your computer, you have to re-log in, which is not nice. If you log in and return after you lock the computer, it should still be connected to the VPN and not disconnected for you to start over. That's something that I do not like.

I rate Cisco IOS SSL VPN a nine out of ten for stability.

My company installs the solution for our customers so they can remotely connect to their networks. We have a staff of 70 technicians and provide end-to-end service from procurement to deployment. 

The solution is very reliable. Most brands have the same SSL for their VPNs, but Cisco as an OEM and a service provider is very trustworthy. 

The flexibility of configurations could be improved. Most companies are going to GUI which is comparatively easier to configure in other solutions. 

I have been using the solution for seven years.

Technical support is very good and helps no matter the task. I rate support a ten out of ten.

The setup is okay but not too easy. It all depends on who completes the setup and if they have familiarity with it. One technician can complete the setup for a small project in 10-25 minutes. For a complex project, it can take days to set up end-to-end. 

I rate setup a six out of ten. 

Our return on investment is solid. I rate it an eight out of ten. 

We are a partner with Cisco and get some level of discount. I rate pricing an eight out of ten. 

It is important to understand the technology and know the product rather than focus on a specific concepts from a specific OEM. If you know the technology on a broader scope, it is easier to configure any OEM device. 

I rate this solution a nine out of ten. 

On-premises

We work in financial reporting, so the reports are confidential, and we can't have direct access. We gain access to their system from here, and we work on that.

Cisco VPN is easy to connect.

Sometimes the connection drops, and we don't like that. I'm not sure the reason, but sometimes it will take time to connect or it will disconnect fast.

I've been using Cisco VPN for close to five months.

Cisco VPN must be stable. Otherwise, we wouldn't have so many people on the solution.

We have close to 70,000 users.

Cisco support has been very helpful.

Setting up Cisco VPN is straightforward.

I rate Cisco IOS SSL VPN eight out of 10. My advice is to be patient with anything new, and you'll get the best out of it. Once you gain complete knowledge of the solution, you'll love working on it.
