Cisco IOS SSL VPN Reviews

We use this solution to connect to our LAN, so that our users are able to access the necessary applications that are designed to be used on-premise. We predominantly use Cisco products and we find it very easy for us to use. 

I think the administration can be improved to include web interfaces. And I also feel that the deployment of the clients can be better. 

I have been using the solution for the past six years now on premise.

It's a very stable solution and I'd say it works perfectly. The only issue may be ensuring that connectivity between the Cisco Firewall and the access directory should be maintained. 

We have about 450 up to 750 users connected to the VPN. I don't see us increasing the number of users because we are trying to migrate some of our applications on the cloud, and we use cloud VPN. 

We work directly with local Premier Partners for Cisco, and they help us in terms of scoping the solution and checking our implementation.  So I think that's how we contact Cisco support indirectly. But we also have instances where we contact Cisco directly, should we need other support, but it's really very rare. Most of the solutions features work perfectly.

Most of our configurations are done by our Cisco Premier Partner, but it's relatively easy to set up Cisco SSL VPN.

I would say the price is high in terms of other solutions, but I believe it's worth the price for enterprise customers. The stability matches the pricing. So I would say it is a bit expensive, but I think it is worth the price.

On a scale from one to ten, I will rate this solution a nine. 

I use Cisco IOS SSL VPN to securely connect to my corporate network.

The product is great because it is easy and simple. It lets me easily connect from home to my company network in a straightforward way.

Improvements could be made in terms of connectivity for applications.

The product’s dashboard is not good enough.

The scalability is great. Almost 500 people in our organization are using the solution.

The initial setup is not very complicated for people who are familiar with the solution.

To deploy the product, we must acquire the equipment and have the license to use it. We need one IT engineer to deploy and maintain the solution.

We pay a yearly licensing fee for the product. The licensing fee is expensive.

Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

On-premises

We primarily use the solution for the VPN for work after COVID. 

We've been using it since Covid and it has been very stable. The troubleshooting is easy and overall the solution overall is pretty good. 

The solution has a variety of useful features. 

We have been able to restrict certain types of usage. Users need to meet certain criteria in order to sign in.

It's a very good VPN product. 

The product is very stable. 

It can easily scale. 

The product has been stable. I have no notes in terms of areas of improvement. 

The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. I'd rate the reliability ten out of ten. 

It's a scalable solution. It's easy to expand as needed. It's not a problem at all. 

We have three or four people that are able to handle deployment and maintenance tasks.

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. We've been very pleased with its capabilities. It's a useful product.

Cisco ASA VPN device with the 8.4(5) image and ASDM 7.11. This device meets the requirements for FIPS 140-2 cryptographic requirements for federal agencies. The purpose of the device is that it ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information between networks. The device is best used between different locations offering secure communications for users, clients (DMZ), and partners (DMZ). Cisco has been in the business for creating borderless networks for some time. Overall performance and features of the device are great. It does take a little time to get used to the commands, as they are a little different from the Cisco IOS router but not as different as another vendor like 3com now, HP. Visibility and granular control of applications and micro-applications,

The product can be used for remote workforce connectivity, especially for companies with many users who want to work from home.

The product's most valuable features are security, stability, and troubleshooting capabilities. 

Cisco IOS SSL VPN should improve its pricing. 

I have been using the product for ten years. 

The stability depends on the license and the product model we use on our premises. I rate it a ten out of ten. 

My company has 50 customers for the product. 

The tool's technical support is good. 

Cisco IOS SSL VPN's deployment is easy. Its deployment time can vary depending on the size of the company. It may take around one or two hours for a small company with just one or two users. However, larger enterprises with around fifty people could take one or two days. The deployment time is not excessively long, but it depends on how the servers are managed. You would need a ten-member team to handle it. 

I rate the overall product a ten out of ten. It enables everyone to work remotely, adding value for the company and its users. Additionally, the tool offers security, high availability, and stability. 

On-premises

I use IOS for VPN. I work overseas often, and sometimes, I can't access what I need without a VPN. Some countries like Indonesia are restrictive, so you need a VPN. We've got about 10,000 employees, and we're all using it. I'm working on a company-provided laptop. I can't connect to our systems without Cisco.

IOS is user-friendly and simple. You connect to a particular VPN, and that's it. You become seamless after that.

I've been using Cisco IOS for about seven years. I've used it since before it was called IOS. 

I've never had any issues with IOS. It's probably a little on the older side, but it does the job.

Cisco customer support is excellent. I've never had issues at all.

I rate Cisco IOS SSL VPN eight out of 10. My main advice is always: Does it work for you? If it works for you, use it.
