The solution has good dashboards and graphics. It helps with supporting operations in telecommunications.

The product lacks APIs for integration with other systems and we have issues with monitoring.

We use this solution to monitor our institutional network.

How has it helped my organization?

This tool has been of great help because we can manage faster solutions with the problems in our network and it helped us reduce our response time.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are auto-discovery and automatic detection of the network topology and network monitoring. In our institution, it is most important that our network is stable because otherwise, we cannot provide services.

What needs improvement?

It would be helpful to include the generation of reports for times that the network was out of service. Such a report should include the name of the network, the start time of the fault, the end time of the fault, and the total time out of service.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for three years.

This product has allowed us to identify and correct certain issues that were affecting our solution. It first set us in the right direction, and then applied the corrective measures in the affected servers. We now have better vision when issues arise, and this has given our network department peace of mind.

Receiving emails with opportune information has been the key to our success.

An update to the Android app would be appreciated.

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is monitoring in a hybrid server environment, with Windows and Unix operating systems. Also, network devices with their interfaces. 

We also make use of the following functionality:

  • Determining relationships between network devices and servers
  • Finding the root cause of the problems easily
  • Notification and SLA reports

How has it helped my organization?

This solution has improved our organization because we gain time by simplifying the root cause analysis. We can easily operate monitoring activities, which decreases operational costs. 

The features for creating a business service model and the Business Process Monitor (BPM) help us to understand how our IT services work. We can customize business-related metrics.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is that it is an all-in-one monitoring system. It handles a server, network devices, log management, and remote connections.

Some other features we find valuable are:

  • Easy to deploy and easy to extend.
  • Ready to use application plug-ins like SAP, VMware, and Weblogic
  • Topology-based monitoring
  • Business model, service-based monitoring

What needs improvement?

The automation for remediation needs to be improved.

Improvements are needed for server and network discovery, including service-based discovery.

I would like to see the following features in the next release:

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI) for event management
    • Network Automation for configuration back-up of network devices
    • Security compliance analysis and reporting

    More than one year.

    This is a high-performance solution and is easy to scale any size.

    The Pandora FMS customer and technical support team are responsive and very quick.

    I changed solutions because Pandora FMS is an all-in-one solution that is cost-efficient.

    This initial setup is easy. It is very simple and the documentation is helpful.

    The support team was very responsive when we had questions during implementation.

    We used an in-house team for implementation.

    What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    Pandora FMS is easy to implement and the pricing of licenses is competitive.

    We evaluated several products including Nagios XI, HP OpenView, Zabbix, and ManageEngine.

    but I think it would also be great if PANDORA fms had a very basic version or for small businesses for free.

    We are using this solution to monitor IT services and infrastructure. Servers, network devices, applications, virtual and cloud environments can be monitored easily using Pandora FMS via agent or agentless. Also, we are tracking the SLA of our services.

    How has it helped my organization?

    Pandora FMS (the Flexible Monitoring System) is an all-in-one package solution, and we can monitor our whole system with Service perspective.

    It gives us the ability to track SLAs of servers and IT Services.

    It's easy to use and not costly compared to other products.

    What is most valuable?

    The most valuable features are:

    • It's an all-in-one solution for monitoring cloud, virtual, network, and server environments
    • Service perspective monitoring
    • Agent and agentless monitoring
    • Effective reports
    • You can configure several types of architecture for high availability or load balancing.

    What needs improvement?

    You can run an action for an event, but sometimes you need to run a workflow action that consists of several commands or scripts. A nice feature in the next release would be an automation module to run workflow actions. It would be perfect for automated monitoring.

    Three years.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    I have used HP OpenView solutions, Micro Focus ITOM products, and Zabbix.

    What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    The license part is not as complicated as some other solutions. You get the license and it includes updates, new versions, and access to the complete library of modules.

    Which other solutions did I evaluate?

    We evaluated a couple of other solutions before settling on this one. They were Nagios and Zabbix but they were too complicated at first sight.
