What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. It releases updates at regular intervals. Our customers are still running the VCF environment we deployed three years ago.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We can deploy it to any architecture size.

How are customer service and support?

We contacted the solution's technical support team when we encountered errors while deploying one of its versions. Their services are good, but sometimes the ticket takes time to process.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The solution's deployment generally takes several months because of design discussions. It requires one data engineer, one networking engineer, and a few executives from the vendor's technical support team to execute the process. Also, from an operational perspective, it requires two to three executives to maintain it.

What other advice do I have?

I advise others not to keep a limited design approach toward the solution. They shouldn't just deploy it to manage Microsoft virtualization alone. It supports various solutions, including NXP, for automatic functioning.

I rate it a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

  • "You can use VMware Cloud Foundation with hyper-converge."
  • "The solution could improve by being more secure."

What is our primary use case?

VMware Cloud Foundation can be used to make private clouds faster than the traditional way. Additionally, it can be used for continuity. If you want to run with Tanzu, you can build a full-stack environment of VMware, such as vSphere, or NSX.

What is most valuable?

You can use VMware Cloud Foundation with hyper-converge.

What needs improvement?

The solution could improve by being more secure.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using VMware Cloud Foundation for approximately one year.

The technical support could improve by being faster.

How was the initial setup?

What about the implementation team?

Our team did the implementation of the solution. We have a team of two that does the process. You need one person to compute the nodes and one from the network team to set up the networks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is an annual license required to use the solution.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

Easy and straightforward to install but the price can be better
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is straightforward and easy."

What is our primary use case?

We are service providers and therefore we only sell this program to our customers. So we don't use it ourselves. Our customers use it for all kinds of purposes like VDI environments, private clouds, connection to public clouds, office automation purposes and applications running on top of this. They use it to consolidate their environment of servers and it provides them a migration path towards cloud environment or private cloud environments.

    What is most valuable?

Because I don't use the program myself, I can't answer this.

    What needs improvement?

Perhaps the pricing can be more competitive.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working on VMware Cloud Foundation for four to five years.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and easy. It's not so complex that you need to have experience with it.

What other advice do I have?

I believe it is a good product and our customers are satisfied with it, so I will rate it a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

A stable solution with an easy initial setup and good mission aspects
    Pros and Cons
    • "The mission aspect of the solution is the most valuable feature."
    • "They need to offer more support for Mac."

    What is most valuable?

The mission aspect of the solution is the most valuable feature.

    What needs improvement?

Typically, the ABA in comparison to other products needs improvement, but it depends on the customer.

They need to offer more support for Mac.

I would like to have IT virtualization options similar to a Raspberry PI, if that's possible.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe the solution is scalable. We haven't had any problems with scalability yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've only used technical support a few times and they usually get back to me within the same day or the next day if it's a difficult issue. However, I haven't used technical support in a few years. I've mostly focused on utilizing more of their professional services for guidance related to configuration examples.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. Usually there are a few conflicts. You're typically always adapting an old infrastructure.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is expensive, but you pay for what you get. The price ultimately could be more competitive in my opinion.

What other advice do I have?

We use various deployment models; it's dependant on the client. We're a VMware partner.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
