We have experienced bugs when using the graphical interface. They are small bugs that are fixable but this is an area that could be improved. In a future release, I would like to be able to use GitLab for stories. I have experienced issues using the local repository to build up a server.
They need to compete with their competitors like AWS and Azure. One example is I would like to see a load balancer feature. I would like to see a more user-friendly version.
If you are not savvy, there should be an option where the company can add cushions to assist. For example, I should be able to find suggestion options or frequently asked questions easily to help me move forward. That option should be there. If I take a learner, a newbie for Plesk, or if I'm a user, as a consumer, and I may want to add some new features, there should be an option where Plesk can understand what the customer wants and put it in their development pipeline so they can continuously improve. That option to communicate directly to Plesk should be there. The solution can scale.
I'm not satisfied with the backup. The website files, ownership, and permissions on Plesk aren't clear at all. We need monitoring for the websites. For some sites that aren't up-to-date, any attackers could upload malicious codes to the website. There isn't any kind of monitoring for malicious codes. I would also like some kind of protection for the applications we put on the server. These wouldn't be normal firewalls, but firewalls that check the logs of the websites and issue an email with an alert when something wrong is happening to the website. There should be some sort of firewall that is specified for app protection. I have also faced some difficulty in moving the websites away from Plesk. Plesk doesn't work in synchronization mode. There's no ability to transfer configurations from old servers to new servers.
The speed of the user interface is something that could be improved. People think that Plesk is slow because the user interface has a lot of elements and sometimes takes time to load. The operation takes place in the background but the UI fails to communicate that to the user. If the UI could be upgraded to increase the speed or something, that might change user perception. For anyone coming from a Linux background, it creates the impression that the control panel is slow. An added feature I'd like to see is functionality in the email sphere because sometimes we need emails for solely transactional purposes and it would be helpful to have that integrated into the solution.
The look of Plesk can be improved by making it resemble a WHMCS. As of now, it is just a hosting environment. The solution should be more than a hosting environment because they are doing a really good job. I prefer to have something like WHMCS from Plesk itself, providing domain registration, providing reseller options, along those lines. The reseller option is there, but you can only resell web hosting. Plesk should be connecting to Google Workspace, and Office 365, it should be more than just a hosting environment. I would like the solution to be linked to, in terms of a reseller or a cloud, a provider, I would like to see Plesk be able to be integrated with the Google Workspace. So, we can resell Google Workspace from Plesk itself. We can use Office 365 over the Plesk panel itself.
Plesk is a user-friendly graphical interface for managing hosting platforms, particularly for Windows-based developers. It is used for hosting websites and emails on the cloud and is popular among system administrators and freelancers. Its most valuable features include the WordPress toolkit for enhanced security, easy plugin updates, and extensions like Imunify for all-in-one security.
