Flexible, good data protection, responsive and knowledgeable technical support
They definitely need to improve their reporting. Their dashboard is good. It can always be improved, but for now, it's really simple: you see what works and what doesn't. However, once you get into the enterprise space, you want to make sure that your dashboard has additional, reporting possibilities. You will want more customization and more options available. Because if you move into the enterprise-class space in the financial industry, they will want to know regulations, where the data is held, and how long the retention periods are by marketing group and per type of data. You want to have hooks into the data types, which Keepit doesn't have now, but I'm sure it will soon.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of this solution is definitely its pricing point. Invoicing is simple. It is one price that includes both licensing and retention requirements, which is rare in today's market. That, I believe, is a significant differentiation for them."
"The setup is very simple. It takes 15 minutes."
"The most valuable feature is the data backup functionality."
"The scalability is good."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the replication functionality."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its integration with M365. Its GUI is intuitive and not bad. The granular recovery options for VMs have been useful, though not as crucial as Office 365 integration, which is why we use it. Granular recovery depends on the specific problems our customers face."
"The product is easy-to-use."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, with ten being easy."
"It is easy to use and easy to recover files."

Cons

"They definitely need to improve their reporting."
"Currently, I'm working for Huawei and they dropped the support for Huawei, so that's an issue for us."
"They can provide a dashboard for sizing. This feature might get included in the next release."
"We would like to have a single management console for all of our backups."
"In some instances, a customer is not necessarily backing up Microsoft 365. For instance, they might be backing up a large Oracle database. It would be nice if they could tweak it to compress the file, so it's easier to transfer a huge file."
"The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go."
"In the next release, it should have direct export to tape drive abilities and NDMP support."
"I would like Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to increase the speed to reduce the backup time."
"If it could rebuild the data without pulling down the entire chunk, it would be an improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe the MSRP is around $5 or $6 USD per person, per month, and per seat."
"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
"The pricing is expensive."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"The cost of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is $19 for one mailbox."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"This is not a stand-alone product and requires a standard Veeam license for your organization in addition to the cost of the solution."
"From our perspective in South Africa, our biggest challenge is the exchange rate from the South African currency to the US dollar. This makes it a bit pricey for us. However, compared to other backup solutions available, I would rate the pricing at a nine out of ten. For the servers, features, and functionality you get, it's worth the money. Of course, we'd always prefer things to be cheaper, but we also understand that you have to pay for proper functionality. So overall, it's not badly priced at all."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution. It is more expensive than NetApp."
