Flexible, good data protection, responsive and knowledgeable technical support
They definitely need to improve their reporting. Their dashboard is good. It can always be improved, but for now, it's really simple: you see what works and what doesn't. However, once you get into the enterprise space, you want to make sure that your dashboard has additional, reporting possibilities. You will want more customization and more options available. Because if you move into the enterprise-class space in the financial industry, they will want to know regulations, where the data is held, and how long the retention periods are by marketing group and per type of data. You want to have hooks into the data types, which Keepit doesn't have now, but I'm sure it will soon.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of this solution is definitely its pricing point. Invoicing is simple. It is one price that includes both licensing and retention requirements, which is rare in today's market. That, I believe, is a significant differentiation for them."
"The product is easy-to-use."
"It's user-friendly, especially for taking incremental backups."
"One of the main features of the solution is it is easy to use."
"I have used the technical support a few times and they've been reasonably helpful."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the backups, we do not want to lose any files. Each one of the files is updated on a regular long-term basis and kept together in the Microsoft cloud-only."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the ease of use. You only need to create a folder in your drive and it's as simple as dragging and dropping files to store them."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the replication functionality."
"The tool is easy to use and straightforward regarding restoration and creating backups. It's user-friendly, providing results and sending alerts when something goes wrong."

Cons

"They definitely need to improve their reporting."
"It's a new product. It's not mature."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by reducing the time it takes for backups. I have mentioned this to Veeam and hopefully, in the next version, it will be a faster backup."
"They could include WAN acceleration to compress the traffic to make things faster."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"In the next release, it should have direct export to tape drive abilities and NDMP support."
"Some additional training materials would be helpful."
"The pricing model is unnecessarily confusing and could be simplified."
"We would like to have a single management console for all of our backups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe the MSRP is around $5 or $6 USD per person, per month, and per seat."
"We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee."
"We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have."
"The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products."
"It is not the cheapest solution in the market."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution. It is more expensive than NetApp."
"The cost of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is $19 for one mailbox."
"From our perspective in South Africa, our biggest challenge is the exchange rate from the South African currency to the US dollar. This makes it a bit pricey for us. However, compared to other backup solutions available, I would rate the pricing at a nine out of ten. For the servers, features, and functionality you get, it's worth the money. Of course, we'd always prefer things to be cheaper, but we also understand that you have to pay for proper functionality. So overall, it's not badly priced at all."
