I generally use the solution in my company as a DNS firewall for DNS DoS attacks and to deal with corrupt DNS requests.
I know my company does come across problems related to the product, sometimes related to a configuration issue or a bug. My company receives good support from EfficientIP DNS Guardian's team, who are responsible and passionate about the product. As far as I know, all of my company's challenges and issues have been successfully resolved. I can't think of any weaknesses or issues which I would like to highlight in a significant manner.
EfficientIP DNS Guardian has a certain default behavior that didn't meet our company's requirements. After the consultation with EfficientIP DNS Guardian's IT support, a configuration changed the product's default behavior, which was undesirable for us, to a desirable behavior. Certain issues happen in every product.
I have been using EfficientIP DNS Guardian for three months.
It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
The solution's technical support is exceptional. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten.
I have experience with Infoblox. Infoblox is a more affordable product than EfficientIP DNS Guardian, but generally, both products are comparable.
Speaking about the tool's initial setup phase, it is not a simple system, considering that my company deals with a cluster of multiple EfficientIP appliances with different pros. The products from EfficientIP do include a complex configuration and design, but for the scale of the systems that we are running, it will be the same in terms of the complexity involved in the deployment, even if I consider other vendors who offer similar systems. In general, the setup phase is complex, but it is expected to be more complex if I consider the deployment needed for our company.
I rate the product price as three to four on a scale of one to ten, where one is low cost, and ten is high price.
Speaking about how EfficientIP DNS Guardian improved our company's network resilience against evolving threats, I would say that it is generally used as an IPAM system to deal with DNS and TCP services, which definitely constitute a fundamental part of the network. With EfficientIP DNS Guardian, my company feels more protected, and we do have protection policies in place, which I believe are tailored to meet our needs.
Speaking about EfficientIP DNS Guardian's beneficial features for threat detection, I feel I am not proficient in the tool. A different person who is a subject matter expert with the product may be more capable of speaking about the threat detection features of the product.
Basically, EfficientIP DNS Guardian is a well-designed tool, and it addresses all the requirements that we have for areas like IPAM, TCP, and DNS services. My company has received exceptional support from EfficientIP DNS Guardian. Price-wise, the tool is actually quite attractive for our company.
My company has not yet leveraged the adaptive DNS security feature of the tool.
The product is easy to integrate into our company's existing security infrastructure, especially considering that it has a good API, which is definitely useful for integrations.
I recommend the product to those who plan to use it.
I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
