There are quite a few features I like. The interface and the ease of building the data model. Data consistency is also a notable feature; the system takes care of data consistency, so you don't need to handle it manually.

Easy integration with other systems and Ethernet support are a few of the most valuable features of SAP Analytics Hub for us.

An analytics solution with easy maintenance but lacks self-service analytics

What needs improvement?

SAP does not have any capability of self-service analytics. It has a GUI, which has nothing to do with end-user empowerment. It should work more on integration.

While SAP Analytics Hub doesn't directly allow manual metric creation from uploaded Excel files, it seamlessly connects to various data sources, including Excel files, to create comprehensive analytics and visualizations.

I have been using SAP Analytics Hub for four to five years.

Semantic layers help with real-time reporting, but analytics need work

Pros

"For report scheduling, I always prefer SAP because it has the most powerful scheduling features, like sending reports to more than 1,000 customers per day. That option is not as good in Microsoft BI and in Tableau it only exists as an add-on option."

What is most valuable?

I have always appreciated SAP for its data capacity. That's a basic requirement since there is always a lot of data. We could be dealing with 100 TB of data. SAP is the only tool that can survive with that volume. 

Another good thing about SAP is that it has powerful tools like the SAP Data View and HANA and BO configuration. They will always give you better results with any type of data and any amount of data within a short time.

For report scheduling, I always prefer SAP because it has the most powerful scheduling features, like sending reports to more than 1,000 customers per day. That option is not as good in Microsoft BI and in Tableau it only exists as an add-on option.

What needs improvement?

The analytics part of SAP has not been that good up until now. They're still in the infant stage and development is still going on. SAP has some cloud analytics and they're trying to configure it in Lumira, but it's not that good at this point.

Good reporting, facilitates integration with other SAP products, but the technical support is limited

What is our primary use case?

We use Analytics Hub primarily for consolidating different kinds of reports and queries into one, single window.

How has it helped my organization?

We use SAP extensively and as such, this product helps because it makes the integration with other SAP products easy. However, we have challenges integrating with non-SAP products, which is the reason that we are looking at other solutions.

Essentially, when we want to quickly generate an analytics report from an SAP solution, this product has helped us. It is very easy to use, right out of the box.
