What is our primary use case?
Windows 11 is more user-friendly in terms of GUI (Graphical User Interface) and offers a wide range of settings and preferences. It's great for configuration in both cloud and on-premise environments. The integration with other systems is good, especially for network analytics and configuration.
It also provides features for troubleshooting and encryption of the disk. Overall, it offers a comprehensive overview of daily workflows and network services.
What is most valuable?
One of the most valuable features of Windows 11 is its ability to provide detailed statistics about the laptop's performance, including battery usage, CPU performance, and network performance. These statistics are useful for IT professionals to analyze and plan for the laptop's future needs.
What needs improvement?
In terms of improvement, I have noticed some latency issues when loading large Excel or Word files. I'm not sure if it's a network or software issue, but it would be great if they could address that.
Additionally, in terms of security, implementing easier remote access to laptops and providing more mature patching options would be beneficial. Overall, there is room for improvement in these areas.
It should also give complete support for already tested versions.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have some experience in configuring it.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Windows 11 has been stable for us, especially when using basic applications like Microsoft Office. Perfomance-wise, it is doing a good job.
I would rate the stability a nine out of ten. Technically, Windows 11 does the job. And there haven't been any major changes. Technically, setting up an IP address and putting it in the network is straightforward.
As for managers and staff, it's almost the same in my environment. They have the privilege to read and execute solutions, but there haven't been any major improvements or changes in 50% of Windows 11.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten. It has room for improvement. Maybe they can focus more on sizing and screen protection, like glare protection for screens for professional laptops.
Around 80 users are using Windows 11 in our organization. Even the laptops come with Windows 11, and with the current economy, it's affordable for us to buy laptops with Windows 11.
How are customer service and support?
I used the support for Windows 10, and overall, I can give them a good rating for Microsoft Windows support. They are very quick and knowledgeable about their product. They give you peace of mind when they troubleshoot all the minor things we are unable to do.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
The setup process for Windows 11 is quite straightforward, especially in a work environment. Joining a domain and connecting to an Azure network is very simple these days. The configuration policies are similar to previous versions, making it easy to implement them on laptops.
What about the implementation team?
We handled the deployment in-house. There was no need for external consultants or integrators.
The deployment process for configuring Windows 11 is quite simple. When you start the setup, it guides you through the process, whether you want to use it as an online or on-premise user. You enter your username and password and check the configurations.
If you have Intune in your environment, you can configure your laptop's settings and applications through Azure. It's a straightforward process that requires basic information and credentials.
What was our ROI?
For the return on investment, suppose we buy a laptop at this price and use it for five years. Then, the ROI is around 30% to 40%.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
License-wise, when you buy a laptop with Windows 11, it comes with the license integrated into the board itself. So I don't need to buy any additional licenses. I only buy laptops with Windows 11 licenses integrated.
What other advice do I have?
To start using Windows 11, you can go ahead. It's a good product with stable performance. It's very easy to use, and the graphical user interface (GUI) is user-friendly. You don't need specific technical knowledge.
Everything is easily accessible for control and simple configuration. They also have an audit log, which is very useful for IT users to track events on the laptop. It's easier, and they provide solutions to resolve any problems.
Overall, I would rate it a nine out of ten. It has room for improvement, but overall, it's a good investment.
