Offers real-time aggregations and easy for a beginner to learn to use this
We use it for real-time data grouping The most valuable part is the column family structure. We mainly use it for real-time aggregations. That's why we prefer it as a NoSQL database. We've seen performance issues when we have more regions. The product needs improvement in that area. So we…

Lightweight with good flexibility and very fast performance for searching data
I used the solution in the production level to search data and create education-based tutorials for a project. We had 30 managers, senior architects, tech leads, and software engineers working on the project.  Currently, I use the solution for my personal work.  The solution has good flexibility…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable part is the column family structure."
"Apache HBase is a database used for data storage."
"like its performance and the stability. It's very stable and, performance-wise, it's really great."
"MongoDB has many good replication features and good performance."
"Migrating to MongoDB upgrades the IT environment and puts users in the NoSQL environment, which is faster."
"It is easy to use."
"It is easy to set up."
"It has visible benefits, actually, in terms of price of ownership if you compare it to, for example, Oracle."
"It is very easy to create a MongoDB cluster. You can deploy three nodes in one hour. You can do small configurations to enable routing. It is easy to implement."
"Sharding is an excellent feature of MongoDB."

Cons

"I don't like using Apache HBase to store huge amounts of data because of many performance issues."
"We've seen performance issues."
"I suppose it could be a little more secure."
"MongoDB should better support small and medium companies. There are a lot of clients out there that are interested, however, they need something lighter and less complex and something not so expensive upfront."
"It could be much more flexible like SequoiaDB. I would like to see more flexibility in the next release, especially when working with Microsoft Windows. A lot of people struggle with MongoDB because of their Windows versions. But Linux is faultless and mostly runs nicely."
"The performance could be faster."
"The user interface is not as friendly as Oracle, which is something that can be improved."
"It would help if MongoDB offered a light solution for small projects."
"I would like to see the scalability and security improved."
"More stable indexes would be helpful in a future release. That's been an issue for some time. I don't know if it's been fixed now but we transitioned to it because we needed a search index to be able to search for things and if that goes or starts disappearing, we have to move away from that solution. I don't know if they fixed it, last time I had this issue was three years ago so they might have solved it."
