Good backup retention but it is not a reliable platform and it doesn't giving any sort of alerts that things are not working
StorageCraft wasn't getting full backup coverage. It was backing up around 1 to 2% of the points. It was not a reliable platform and it wasn't giving any sort of alerts that things were not working. The majority of stuff wasn't backed up, so we really weren't happy with them. That's when we went on the look for a new solution.

Great backup that's user-friendly and very reliable
The initial setup is very straightforward. It is easy. There are no great difficulties when setting up the solution. Even the configuration is simple. The deployment itself takes only a couple of days. It only takes one person to install it. You do not need a big team. We had an engineer manage it. The product does not require any maintenance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The backup retention was pretty good. Being able to archive users who had been backed up, is a good functionality. Even if they've been deactivated it'll keep the backups and keep them protected."
"One of the most valuable features of Veeam Cloud Connect is it does not require the use of an extremely fast internet connection for it to work. The backup process is automated which is great."
"The solution is already far more advanced than our customers require. It offers advanced scripting and automation pre-testing to support the custom library and custom tasks."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Cloud Connect is the server backups, such as the Microsoft Windows server. Additionally, the updates provide useful enterprise functionality."
"The deployment is quite simple. Users are generally happy because of the familiarity they have with the features. The solution offers good transparency for the end-user."
"I've found flexibility to the most valuable feature. I also like that it's scalable and that the stability is okay."
"the interface is the most valuable feature and for the client it's security."
"Cloud Connect's best features are its simplicity, flexibility, and constantly-expanding options."
"A really good feature is backing up the emails of the company."

Cons

"StorageCraft wasn't getting full backup coverage. It was backing up around one to 2% of the points. It was not a reliable platform and it wasn't giving any sort of alerts that things were not working."
"We need the solution to offer IT storage."
"The pricing is much higher than what our clients expect it to be."
"Pricing could be improved and I also think archiving could be improved."
"The security of encrypted data could be better."
"If a customer has a low budget, Veeam may be too expensive."
"Doesn't back-up from KVM."
"The solution should allow for interfacing with other public cloud vendors. They could work to build something around that concept."
"The solution needs to be more scalable. There should be no reason to set up Veeam Cloud Connect and have 10 servers in order to have a cloud backup. The initial setup could be easier."
