Tells us about vulnerabilities as well as their impact and helps to focus on real issues
Looking at all the different pieces, it has got everything we need. Some of the pieces we do not even use. For example, we do not have Kubernetes Security. We are not running any K8 clusters, so it is good for us. Overall, we find the solution to be fantastic. There can be additional education components. This may not be truly fair to them because of what the product is going for, but it would be great to see additional education for compliance. It is not a criticism of the tool per se, but anything to help non-development resources understand some of the complexities of the cloud is always appreciated. Any additional educational resources are always helpful for security teams, especially those without a development background.

Comprehensive threat detection simplifies security management
GuardDuty is limited to AWS environments. While incorporating Amazon Detective for detailed investigation can be useful, including more granular details in findings, such as specific user actions or historical comparisons, would be beneficial. Furthermore, managing global AWS environments requires setting up additional tools for viewing GuardDuty findings across multiple regions. A unified dashboard that aggregates findings across all regions without requiring manual aggregation could enhance convenience for users.

Has vulnerability detection, software composition analysis and asset management features
Due to its robust nature, the platform's adoption can be overwhelming initially. However, once organizations start using it, they tend to get used to it. I haven't had much direct interaction with the support team, but some partners have reported a desire for better support for the product. Another area needing improvement is the implementation complexity, especially in multi-cloud environments. Tenable Cloud Security's features mean there's a steep learning curve, which can consume significant time and resources to utilize the platform's potential and fully see immediate benefits. It's similar to AI in that you must spend time fine-tuning and training before it truly helps.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We're monitoring several cloud accounts with Singularity. It is convenient to identify issues or security failures in any account. It's nice to have all the details we need to solve these issues."
"The user-friendly dashboard offers both convenience and security by providing quick access to solutions and keeping us informed of potential threats."
"I did a lot of research before signing up and doing the demo. They have a good reputation as far as catching threats early on."
"My favorite feature is Storyline."
"Our previous product took a lot of man hours to manage. Once we got Singularity Cloud Workload Security, it freed up our time to work on other tasks."
"Cloud Native Security's most valuable features include cloud misconfiguration detection and remediation, compliance monitoring, a robust authentication security engine, and cloud threat detection and response capabilities."
"We've seen a reduction in resources devoted to vulnerability monitoring. Before PingSafe we spent a lot of time monitoring and fixing these issues. PingSafe enabled us to divert more resources to the production environment."
"It is advantageous in terms of time-saving and cost reduction."
"The correlation back end is the solution's most valuable feature."
"With anomaly detection, active threat monitoring, and set correlation, GuardDuty alerts me to any unusual user behavior or traffic patterns right away, which is great for staying on top of potential security risks."
"The solution is easy to use."
"Overall, GuardDuty is a very easy-to-use tool, and I would recommend it even to those who are not tech-savvy."
"We have over 1,000 employees, and we monitor their activity through AWS GuardDuty."
"Deployment is great, and we didn't face any big challenges."
"What we found most valuable in Amazon GuardDuty is its threat detection feature, especially because we were monitoring a huge number of AWS accounts, so we needed a solution that would monitor for any kind of malicious activity. The monitoring aspect of the solution was great because it gave us timely notifications if and when anything happened, and Amazon GuardDuty helped keep us on our toes to make sure we took action right away."
"GuardDuty is extensive in terms of configuration and security compliance."
"The tool alerts us on depreciating performance or deficiencies of our web application. It helps us react on time."
"Tenable Cloud Security excels in vulnerability detection, one of its strongest features. Another valuable feature is software composition analysis, which highlights and automates the detection of security flaws. Additionally, their knowledge base is excellent; if anything goes wrong, they provide clear guidance on what needs to be done to address specific vulnerabilities."
"The product's deployment phase is easy."
"Scanning and reporting are the most valuable features of Tenable Cloud Security"
"The key benefit lies in having the largest and most up-to-date database. When it comes to using any Tenable product, it excels in finding vulnerabilities and providing analytics."
"If you have multi-cloud tenancy using AWS and Azure, you can have a single dashboard where you can onboard all the cloud infrastructure and have visibility into it."
"The product's visibility and remediation work fine for me."
"Ermetic can provide super visibility for our cloud environment (we are using AWS)."

Cons

"While SentinelOne offers robust security features, its higher cost may present a challenge for budget-conscious organizations."
"One potential drawback is the cost of SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security, which may be prohibitive for smaller businesses or startups, particularly those in regions with lower average incomes, such as India."
"One of the issues with the product stems from the fact that it clubs different resources under one ticket."
"For SentinelOne, improvements could be made in managing Internet dependency as cloud-based operations can pose challenges in environments with limited connectivity."
"I'd like to see better onboarding documentation."
"In addition to our telecom and Slack channels, it would be helpful to receive Cloud Native Security security notifications in Microsoft Teams."
"Maybe container runtime security could be improved."
"The area of improvement is the cost, which is high compared to other traditional endpoint protections."
"The product needs to improve its cost-efficiency since it is expensive."
"Cost changes. It's very expensive. If you turn on every feature, it's more than most commercial vendors. For smaller orgs, that doesn't make sense."
"The solution's user interface could be improved because it will help users to understand multiple options."
"We currently find Lacework to be much better at detecting vulnerabilities than AWS GuardDuty. The engines of AWS GuardDuty have to be improved."
"For the next release, they could provide IPS features as well."
"It is evolving, and at the moment, I will just need it on a larger scale. Then, it will satisfy my demand, initially."
"I would like to see more integration with other AWS provided services."
"AWS GuardDuty needs to be more customer-oriented."
"Tenable needs to offer a patch-based solution since it is an area where the tool lacks a bit."
"I have faced several bug incidents with the solution"
"Ermetic needs to improve its security scanning. I would like to see more dynamic graphical forms."
"I do think there might be room for more integrations. This could allow for further customization and flexibility, essentially offering different functionality options to accommodate various budgets."
"I didn't find anything that wasn't useful or needed to be added."
"The product must provide more features."
"Due to its robust nature, the platform's adoption can be overwhelming initially. However, once organizations start using it, they tend to get used to it. I haven't had much direct interaction with the support team, but some partners have reported a desire for better support for the product."
"There is a need for the support team to improve their response time since it is one of the areas where the product's technical team has certain shortcomings."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We found it to be fine for us. Its price was competitive. It was something we were happy with. We are not a Fortune 500 company, so I do not know how pricing scales at the top end, but for our cloud environment, it works very well."
"The licensing is easy to understand and implement, with some flexibility to accommodate dynamic environments."
"The pricing is somewhat high compared to other market tools."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is costly."
"The cost for PingSafe is average when compared to other CSPM tools."
"It is cheap."
"SentinelOne offers excellent pricing and licensing options."
"PingSafe is fairly priced."
"The platform is inexpensive."
"I don't have all the details in terms of licensing for Amazon GuardDuty, but my organization does have a license set up for it."
"The tool's licensing model is pay-as-you-go."
"80 percent of the customers are using AWS GuardDuty, and we recommend it due to its low cost, especially for small customers, ranging from five to ten dollars a month. In our policies, we enforce the usage of this service, making it a recommended practice for security."
"The tool has no subscription charges."
"Pricing is determined by the number of events sent."
"The pricing model is pay as you go and is based on the number of events per month."
"GuardDuty only enables accounts in regions where you have an active workload. If there are places where you don't have an active workload, you wouldn't even enable them. That's one area where they could allow you to cut down your cost."
"The tool's price is good compared to other brands. The tool's subscription is for a year."
"There is a need to opt for a subscription-based pricing model to use Tenable Cloud Security. I rate the product price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
"The tool's pricing is fair."
