Stable but bad technical support, and an out of date database
We primarily use the solution to protect our business The solution protects us so that we have regular security from attacks. It prevents disasters from happening on our system. The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature. The database needs improvement. It needs to be…

Our main antivirus tool and offers adaptive threat prevention tool
The technical support needs some improvement. When product distribution errors occur, we have to contact technical support, which is a very tedious and time consuming task. After raising the call onto the technical support portal, usually receive a notification after 24 hours. It usually takes 3 to 4 days to conclude and resolve the issue. If 24/7 online support or a phone line where we could speak directly with technical support for real-time troubleshooting, that would be very helpful. Licensing is another aspect where trellix should look into. Different purchases are grouped together in single user account get mixed up. Categorization of purchases and their grant numbers is not available to end user.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has exchange protection. It has a content control, device control, a firewall, and anti-malware as well. They are all quite valuable features for us."
"The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature."
"I like the simplicity of this solution and the fact that it saves us time. The deployment was really straightforward and useful and I am impressed by the anti-virus endpoint detection and response offered by this solution."
"The platform's most valuable features are AI capabilities and its quick updates."
"The product can be installed in almost any environment"
"FireEye Endpoint Security is easy to use and lightweight compared to others."
"The response part of EDR was most valuable. We used that to separate the endpoint from the network. We utilized the solution during the instant response. We were also utilizing advanced malware detection capabilities, but we benefited the most from its help with the response."
"The most valuable features of McAfee MVISION Endpoint are advanced threat protection, web filtering, and removable storage devices in the DLP."
"It's good that it periodically scans all my drives. I can stay up to date with the status of my drivers and update them if needed."
"Provides good mobile device protection."
"I have not received any complaints about the performance."

Cons

"There needs to be better integration with the environment. Especially, for the active directory and also for keeping up with the changes from Microsoft. We use a lot of Microsoft OS. I have noted that sometimes they lag behind Microsoft updates. For example, when with Windows 10. I had some issues with deploying to Windows 10 because the solution was behind in updating their own services to match the Microsoft release."
"The database needs improvement. It needs to be updated quite a bit."
"There are blurred lines between anti-virus and endpoint detection so I would say it can be confusing when you are considering buying this program. I would like to see that being explained better to the customer."
"It is a very heavy tool, unfortunately."
"There should be better integration between the ePolicy Orchestrator and FireEye console. The integration of both consoles should be better."
"The product is consolidating its portfolio into one product. It is difficult at the moment."
"The performance could be better. I noticed that it slows down a bit."
"They have something called Managed Detection and Response. They get intel from their customers, and that intel is shared with the rest of FireEye's customers. I want to subscribe to their intel, but that is not available to us."
"Most of these types of solutions including others, such as Carbon Black and FortiEDR, all have the same features. However, Carbon Black is the leader when it comes to being robust and user-friendly and this solution should improve in those areas to stay more competitive."
"A policy-editing console should be added."
"The central monitoring dashboard needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There's a yearly cost for licensing. For us, that comes to $1,400. There are no additional costs beyond the license itself."
"There's a subscription on a yearly basis. It's not that expensive; it's quite affordable."
"We are on an annual subscription for McAfee MVISION Endpoint. The cost for the license could be less expensive."
"Microsoft Defender is not cheap and from a cost perspective, Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) is a better option."
"The product pricing is high."
"I don't think there are any extra expenses besides its licensing costs."
"Pricing for McAfee MVISION Endpoint is not very good, and I would rate its cost three out of five, though I won't be able to mention how much its actual price is."
"It is a yearly subscription-based product, which includes the license and hardware. There is also a subscription for technical support up to five years."
"It is based on an annual subscription."
