Useful in webinars, meetings and online classrooms
One of the features that people enjoy is the whiteboard, providing opportunities for academics to present content and for students to contribute. The platform also allows for the creating of different rooms, enabling large classes to break into smaller groups for discussions. Students can then return to the main classroom to share their opinions. It integrates with LMS.

An easy-to-use solution with occasional issues related to stability
I haven't used Google Meet in a few months. The product doesn't offer the option to upload or send files to others. While the product does provide the option to text, it could be even more useful if it offered the ability to share pictures, such as screenshots, with individuals who are not connected with you through phone or social media. At that point in time when we were studying, we, as students, needed the ability to upload files, especially to send answers to our teachers' questions. Instead of typing the answers, it would have been good if we could upload pictures or screenshots.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution allows me to connect and collaborate with my classes."
"One of the features that people enjoy is the whiteboard, providing opportunities for academics to present content and for students to contribute. The platform also allows for the creating of different rooms, enabling large classes to break into smaller groups for discussions. Students can then return to the main classroom to share their opinions. It integrates with LMS."
"Document loading and annotation."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ability to allow the sharing of screens and the way it allows a user to take control of another system."
"The initial setup process is straightforward."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten based on the number of users we have."
"The most valuable features are that you don't have to create a separate account, it's easy to use, and you don't have to enter an ID or password to start video conferencing."
"The solution is easy to use and navigate."
"Google Hangouts is easy to use and has good performance."
"I find it valuable that Google Hangouts is a lightweight tool that doesn't take up a lot of memory and doesn't require a lot of resources."
"The ease of navigation is good, as we can easily share data and screens."

Cons

"We faced outages when the user limit went over a certain number."
"The system can overload when too many try logging in."
"If there were maybe more tutorials outside of what I'm aware the university is suggesting, I would take more tutorials on effective ways to deliver content. I come from the industry and content was always needed when people that were observing were smart and involved and decision-makers instead of so passively just trying to pass the course. In my imagination, the tutorials would be a tool where the learners themselves can have much more hands-on learning during a Collaborate session."
"Sometimes, due to system restrictions, I can't use blur effects or other filters."
"The platform's screen-sharing feature and the participant panel could be improved."
"Google Meet could be more secure."
"The user interface is an area with shortcomings and needs improvement."
"I would like to have a whiteboard feature, where I can draw a sketch or diagram and show it to the people in the meeting."
"It would be great if this solution could be added to smart TVs. We would also like the ability to broadcast to a YouTube channel when having a meeting or session using this solution."
"The solution could integrate more automation into the product."
"The improvement needs to be done as per customer requirements."

"The screen-sharing feature is the most valuable feature."
"I believe my company has a yearly license for Google Hangouts, but I'm not sure because this is a corporate account, so I don't have the details."
"For individual use, there's no license requirement as such. For storage or some other purposes, if I go beyond 15 GB, then I need to buy something."
"There is a need to make certain payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product and some other tools that are included in the suite offered by Google. Google Hangouts alone as a product is available for free."
"I don't need to buy Google Hangouts separately because it comes free with Google Workspace, and it is also available for my personal Gmail ID."
"I pay $6 per user per month for Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Hangouts."
"This solution is available for free with the opening of a Google account."
