Integration solution proves maturity and drives productivity
There are many features we're using. We're starting to do AI now regarding integration with other platforms, focusing on creating integrations. A significant area for improvement is version control. Currently, you develop and cannot properly roll back to a previous version unless you create different versions. With proper version control, you could know which version to revert to and test other versions.

Robust and does a good job of handling overload conditions
We purchase an add-on called task factory primarily to allow bulk delete, update, and upsert capability. I'd like to see this be part of the standard package. I believe there are ways to build a model and set variables so that it can be a generic process. In my next system, I would like to have a generic process that would handle all the logging and processing in a model that can be modified and enhanced as the need for a better process, or different statistics to be logged is discovered. I'd want this in a way that the model can be changed and all the processes, with their unique parameters, could all be changed with the model upgraded. I believe they should add some features that help to create the code using a model. This would allow for continuous improvement of the model uses and easy replication of all the different programs that use the model.

"The iPaaS functionality is very mature. The browser based IDE is also very mature and stable."
"The tool's most valuable features I've found are related to debugging and testing. It makes it easy to track execution, documents, and process history. This functionality is particularly useful for identifying issues with data and providing insights to the business."
"I like the tool's optimization feature."
"The maturity of the product is significant."
"Very effective with its drag-and-drop feature."
"The platform is user-friendly."
"The integration landscape has become complex, and having a data strategy with unified data models would make integration easier for any platform, including Boomi."
"It has the ability to be deployed into the cloud through Data Factory, and run completely as a software as a service in the cloud."
"It is easy to set up. The deployment is also very quick."
"The debugging capabilities are great, particularly during data flow execution. You can look into the data and see what's going on in the pipeline."
"The interface is very user-friendly."
"The reporting on the solution is perfect. I didn't expect to see reporting features, but they are great."
"Overall, it's a good product."
"The setup was easy. All Microsoft products are easy to set up."
"The workflow features have been very valuable. You can have automated workflows and all the steps are controlled. The workflow functionality of integration services is excellent."

Cons

"They need to introduce more configurable functions to remove scripting or coding. Scripting should be minimized. It should have exhaustive functions. Currently, it lacks in this aspect."
"There are more mature (dedicated) API management and master data management (MDM) solutions available in the market."
"They are lacking in some streaming features, and messaging features from a listener's point of view."
"Boomi AtomSphere Integration should scale up on the migration area."
"It is a costly platform. Its pricing could be better."
"There are still some areas that need improvement. For example, when updates are going on, the product becomes very slow."
"The API can use some work to come up to speed with the competition but Dell has plans and is working on resolving that."
"There are very few string handling functions and few mathematical functions are available."
"There were some issues when we tried to connect it to data storage. It was a connection issue."
"It should have other programming languages supported as well from a scripting perspective. Currently, only C# and VB.NET are supported, which limits it to .NET. It should have Java support as well."
"We In upgrading SSIS, we encountered challenges fixing SQL Server and performance issues, including problems during a failover in our data warehouse."
"We'd like them to develop data exploration more."
"It's a legacy tool, that is nearing the end of its useful life."
"I would like to see more features in terms of the integration with Azure Data Factory."
"Future releases should improve the data lineage, as it currently is not good."
"There are a lot of things that Microsoft could improve in relation to SSIS. One major problem we faced was when attempting to move some Excel files to our SQL Server. The Excel provider has a limitation that prevents importing more than 255 columns from a particular Excel file to the database. This restriction posed a significant issue for us."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost of the solution is in the neighborhood of $20,000 annually. There are no costs above the standard licensing fee."
"I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"The pricing is not reasonable at all. It's very high."
"AtomSphere Integration's pricing is competitive, and I would rate it seven out of ten."
"Approximately 20k annually."
"Boomi AtomSphere Integration is expensive. I rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"When it comes to pricing, it's not so much about being less expensive as it is about how they don't tie to the hardware on the underlined VMware that you run on, as other vendors do"
"The licensing model of Dell Boomi is based on a ‘pay-per-use’ model."
"SSIS is fairly well-priced - I would rate it at four out of five."
"Depending on the arrangement that a certain company has with Microsoft, it may supply the permanent license that is included in the SQL server license, or it may be a time-bound license if it is a partner license or other enterprise license."
"The solution comes free of cost."
"It would be beneficial if the solution had a less costly cloud offering."
"Our license with SSIS is annual."
"My advice is to look at what your configuration will be because most companies have their own deals with Microsoft."
"All of my clients have this product included as part of their Microsoft license."
"This solution has provided an inexpensive tool, and it is easy to find experienced developers."
