A backup solution with better reporting and easy configuration
We were looking to replace our backup software and started doing a POC. During the POC, we realized the benefits of Clumio, especially given our small team. We always look for solutions that are easily manageable and not cumbersome. Clumio offers an easy interface, is simple to set up, and is easy to maintain. It provides a way to get daily reports directly from the software. Clumio has a straightforward setup; it involves deploying an OVF agent and connecting it to the cloud. Once connected, it begins backing up to the cloud. You can easily go to the cloud console and specify which servers need backups, and it starts the process. Different policies can be defined and assigned to servers, making the process much easier. Clumio also sends daily report emails, so every morning, we receive a report detailing what was successfully backed up and what failed. Their support is also good. If a backup fails twice, they proactively open a ticket and contact to resolve the issue.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Clumio has a straightforward setup"
"It was easy to set up."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is reliable and easy to use."
"Its ability to restore at the item level is very valuable. It is very strong at that. In the past, we had to restore a lot of data only for a couple of items. We can now restore an item as well as an email, which is good for productivity."
"The product offers good stability."
"The setup is very simple. It takes 15 minutes."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the replication functionality."
"I believe the solution is very scalable. We can continuously add mailboxes and sites."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the WAN accelerator. This feature allows for large amounts of data from one location to another. If the bandwidth in the environment is slow it makes the transfer slow but the WAN accelerator feature helps speed the transfer."

Cons

"They need to improve their SQL backup services"
"It requires quite an amount of infrastructure. You have to set up the instance, and you need to know quite a bit about Microsoft 365 authentication. For some customers, it is a challenge."
"While there really is nothing wrong with the product some small improvements in the interface could make it even easier to use."
"If it could rebuild the data without pulling down the entire chunk, it would be an improvement."
"One major drawback is that Veeam doesn't support migrating data once it's stored in object storage like S3."
"Its price could be improved."
"This is a cloud solution, and the speed can be slow sometimes."
"If you use a device to back up with compression and duplication, the solution doesn't work."
"When you add a new site for backup, it gives you a notice that there is a new site, but the way you select that and configure that could be slightly better. It works, but it is not always very clear. For example, for the URL, you need to hover over the title or the name of the site. You should see it immediately on the screen. It should have a better user interface for selecting what you want to back up so that you get a more clear overview of the sites that are there and the ones that you want to combine in a backup. Its user interface should be more user-friendly. It has a lot of scrolling and doesn't give you a complete overview when needed. That's the main thing why it is not very user-friendly. It should have a better user interface."
