Efficient, reliable, and easy to set up

We're a customer and end-user. I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using. We needed to buy Package Broker. It was a requirement for us. If you want to use a security chain on your internet, you have to use something like Package Broker. We decided on a benchmark and then had a look around, and then we decided to get Ixia Packet Broker in the end. I'd recommend the solution to others. Overall, I would rate the solution ten out of ten as we have been very satisfied with the capabilities on offer.

Overview

Cubro Visibility Node is much more than a network packet broker because it interacts with the Cubro Visibility Controller, and supports dynamic packet handling approaches for modern overlay networks. The cubro controller correlates metadata from the CVN and configurations information from the network infrastructure.

In the past, a network was configured device by device (device model). Today, networks are configured by software tools to provide services (service model).

Currently, overlay networks are a standard in any data center. The only differentiator today versus in the past is that we are talking about hundreds or thousands of overlay networks per data center with up to multiple thousands of endpoints. Also, overlay networks are more dynamic than in the past such that manual configuration of visibility tools is no longer possible.

Network packet brokers (NPBs) filter traffic to send only the right data to the right tool. Packets are aggregated and filtered from Layer 2 through to the application layer. Duplicate packets can also be removed and sensitive content stripped before the data is sent to the monitoring tools if that is required. This provides a better solution to improve the efficiency and utility of your monitoring tools.
