Centralized monitoring improves security posture through rapid data processing
The processing part of Elastic Security ( /products/elastic-security-reviews ) is very interesting for us since we handle almost 7,000 to 8,000 alerts per minute. We require rapid processing speed for alerts and event data, and Elastic Security is very efficient at handling this level of data. Additionally, Elastic Security helps improve the security posture of Pakistan through centralized visibility and real-time processing.

It's a complete solution package
When I go into the portal, I can see how many endpoints are enrolled or how many of them are active in place. I can see the current number of threats that are there in the organization. How many threats have been identified, etc. I can see which endpoint the critical events are coming in from a security aspect.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Elastic Security helps improve the security posture of Pakistan through centralized visibility and real-time processing."
"The most valuable feature is the machine learning capability."
"It's very stable and reliable."
"Just the ability to do a lot more than just up-down is nice, which a lot of people take for granted."
"It's very customizable, which is quite helpful."
"The most valuable feature is the scalability. We are in Indonesia, more engineers understand Elastic Security here. So it is easier to scale and also develop. In features, the discovery to query all the logs is very important to us. It is very easy, especially with the query function and the feature to generate alerts and create tools. Sometimes we use the alert security dashboard to monitor our clients."
"Elastic Security is a highly flexible platform that can be implemented anywhere."
"The most valuable thing is that this solution is widely used for work management and research. It's easy to jump into the security use case with the same technology."
"It's a complete solution package."
"The initial setup was straightforward."

Cons

"The biggest challenge has been related to the implementation."
"Elastic Security could improve the documentation. It would help if they were more simple and clean."
"We had issues with scalability. Logstash was not scaling and aggregation was getting delayed. We moved to Fluentd making our stack from ELK to EFK."
"I want to find an automatic security system in the tool, like a SOAR solution. I am looking forward to seeing a SOAR system in the tool."
"Continuous upgrades can be quite inconvenient. My security testing team continuously reports vulnerabilities, and we have to fix and update the versions frequently."
"It would be better if Elastic Security had less storage for data. My customers do not like this. Other vendors have local support in different countries, but Elastic Security doesn't. I would like to have Operational Technology (OT) security in the next release."
"Better integration with third-party APMs would be really good."
"It could use maybe a little more on the Linux side."
"The pricing could be improved."
"We found limitations in the XDR's detections, lacking the ability to create customized detection and log parsing rules."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I find it better than Splunk in terms of cost-effectiveness. For cost-effectiveness, I would rate it a nine out of 10."
"The pricing is in the middle. I think it is not an expensive experience if we compare it with big names, for example, QRadar, and also Oxide. I think Elastic Security is quite cheap. I would rate the pricing of this solution a five out of ten."
"Elastic Security is free to use."
"Compared to other tools, Elastic Security is a cheaper solution."
"The solution is not expensive and costs around ten dollars a month."
"We are using the free, open-source version of this solution."
"The base product is open-source but if you need advanced security features then you need to pay for the subscription. Elastic Security's price is reasonable in some cases and in other cases it's not."
"The product offers an amazing pricing structure. Price-wise, the product is very competitive."
"The pricing is six out of ten."
