Easy to scale and good record to report capabilities but needs better training
It's not a very popular tool. There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market. The support needs to be faster. The solution needs to be lighter. It's a bit too heavy.

Helps monitor queries and identify which indexes need to be created in the databases
SQL Server is very simple due to its GUI, which is available for users. It allows for modifications and has execution plans available, along with options such as activity monitoring. This helps monitor queries and identify which indexes need to be created in the databases, tables, or columns to improve performance.

Pros

"The solution scales easily."
"For me, the initial setup is very easy as I have years of experience with the product."
"It is a very user-friendly solution. It is easy to manage the databases and troubleshoot any issue. It is a perfect solution for the volume or transactions that we need to manage."
"The solution is valuable because it seamlessly extracts reports and enables the collection of information from different tables."
"They have improved the UI and ease of accessing the database and server which is good. You can load it up and start using it from the very minute it is implemented."
"The most valuable feature of SQL Server is that it is easy to set up."
"Managing database is very good."
"Tuning Advisor suggests where to add indexes and from where to remove them. It works like an adviser."
"We have found the solution valuable because we are able to easily create a query, shrink, backup, and make new tables."

Cons

"There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market."
"The pricing in general could be better."
"SQL Server could improve by being more user-friendly, it is still geared towards specialists. Additionally, the monitoring system is difficult to use, not everyone can use it well. The configuration should be able to be done through the GUI."
"While using it, we really didn't experience any pain points."
"They need to improve their support. It should be faster."
"Query optimitzer could be simplified."
"The product performance can become slow when the data reaches sizes like a terabyte."
"Our biggest problem with SQL Server is latency. The communication between the cloud and the on-premises environment is slow. The data needs to be encrypted for security, and you have to exchange data certificates between environments. You can adjust the configuration to improve performance, but it would be nice if SQL Server had some templates to resolve problems."
"They could improve the solution by allowing more portability between on-premise and the cloud."
