Users can easily deploy and manage it
The solution's most valuable feature is that it is simple to deploy and manage. I can't say what features of the tool I like since it is very much a deploy-and-forget product. We don't use any advanced features of the tool in my company. The tool's recovery options are good, especially since it integrates with Active Directory, making everything a simple process. The product's integration capabilities are good.

How We Chose SED + WinMagic's SecureDoc For Full Disk Encryption
What if your organization’s leadership directed you to deploy an enterprise encryption solution in 120 days?  Could you do it? I received that message in May 2011 and our basic business goals were full disk encryption (FDE), low laptop performance impact, and low administrative overhead (easy to…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft BitLocker is a Microsoft native product that provides good encryption."
"The ease of administering and integrating the solution is great."
"I liked the way it works with our Microsoft tools. As we roll out Intune, we can validate if the device has been encrypted, and if not, we can push it down. It is pretty simple to deploy."
"The most valuable feature is the TPM (Trusted Platform Module), which makes the PC security stronger because somebody who is not from the team cannot access the PC without the decryption PIN."
"The solution has a feature that automatically asks the users to upgrade their password once we set up the process."
"Feature-wise we have the ability to encrypt fast."
"We have not seen any bugs or glitches, so the stability is good."
"The solution is included in Windows 11."
"The Central Management server."

Cons

"The visualization could be better."
"The solution should have a better user interface and dashboard."
"It would be good if Microsoft offered improved recovery options or if it could automate the recovery options a bit."
"In future releases, I would like to see a feature where I can have a view of each device that has BitLocker to see if these machines are encrypted or not. So, I just want a view or a dashboard that can tell us so that I can remediate and add BitLocker to those systems or devices."
"The solution could be improved if it was more user friendly."
"Some of the technical internal functions, such as encryption protocols or something similar, could be improved."
"They could improve cloud integration regarding attribute and encryption key management."
"The deployment process regarding prerequisites and automation could be easy to understand."
"MacOS X is missing features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is priced low. I would rate the product's pricing one out of ten."
"BitLocker is already in Windows 10 and its price has already been "paid"."
"We already use Microsoft products, and Microsoft BitLocker is an add-on product that is free of cost for us."
"BitLocker is included in our license and doesn't cost us anything extra."
"The tool is cheap compared to the products offered by competitors. If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool's price as one."
"The cost of this solution is bundled in with part of the subscription for the Microsoft Cloud. We have users subscribed to Enterprise E5 and it comes with E5"
"The solution’s pricing is reasonable."
"The solution is cost efficient."
"Licensing and pricing is on par with the market."
