A stable and economical solution that provides quick disaster recovery
The most valuable feature of Quorum OnQ is quick recovery. We call it a single-click recovery. If any server goes down, crashes, or experiences downtime, we can bring up the DR (Disaster Recovery) server in just two minutes. We also have a "Single Pane of Glass," wherein we work with only a single…

Beneficial pricing model, user friendly interface, and many free features
We use Veeam Backup Replication for the data center, desktop recovery, daily backups, and for storage offline The solution is a user-friendly interface. The solution could improve by having a version to be compatible with the Linux system. They have improved the storage depository using the…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it comes to recovering what you need from a backup, it's really easy. You just drill through the directory, find the file and the date that you want, and click to recover. You then pick the directory you want to save it in. Usually, it takes a minute or two and it's done. It's quick and easy."
"The solution offers good documentation."
"The solution is very cost effective."
"I have used the BMR (Bare Metal Restore) in several emergencies and it has absolutely saved my bacon."
"It is a very scalable solution."
"The most valuable feature is spinning up a ready-to-go VM in a test or production environment that is based on a backup stored on the Quorum device."
"The biggest feature is being able to do a file recovery to the original server. That is extremely useful and has saved us a few times when we've had ransomware. In some of those cases, people's computers were locked down by viruses which spread to things they had access to, including server shares. But we were easily able to just restore to four hours prior, instead of a day or two or more ago."
"The change in the way that Quorum processes data has made a tremendous improvement in backup and replication times. While the familiar interface remains, the underpinnings have been finely tuned and the speed is incredible. My large Exchange Server went from 5- to 6-hour backups down to 22 minutes."
"The most valuable features I have found to be Instant Recovery, quick restore and rollback, and asynchronous copy. It is a complete solution for our needs."
"I think the interface is straightforward"
"Replication Job base on a source HPE Catalyst store to perform a full reconstruction of our production systems on our third datacenter, which is our DRP Site."
"This product is user-friendly. The interface is easy to use."
"What I like most about this solution are the simplicity and the price-performance ratio."
"They introduced a new feature called the Immutable Repository feature, which helps protect environments from malware attacks that target backup file extensions."
"Integration with various applications, such as on-premises laptops and desktop backups, as well as applications and databases, is excellent."
"Very flexible, all-in-one solution."

Cons

"I paid for subscription of Firewall. I paid for subscription of endpoint protection. Thet should introduce single subscription for all services."
"The user interface needs to be improved."
"The one thing they could do is some tweaking on the web solution that's supposed to monitor everything from one page, rather than having to bring each server up on its own webpage. It doesn't always accurately show what the system's state is at the time, and we have to restart that process now and then."
"Quorum OnQ's user interface is not very attractive and should be made more attractive."
"It feels to me like it's going to be a little bit more work than I originally anticipated when upgrading the appliance. I haven't done that yet so I can't speak from true experience, but I went through the project plan and it feels to me like there's quite a number of pieces and components and things that have to be done. Quorum is going to manage the rollout, but in starting the initial conversation there were a lot of unanswered questions"
"The cost could be reduced."
"Better integration with cloud-based solutions like Azure and Office 365 is needed."
"I would like to see iSCSI support added so that NAS storage servers could be protected. We heavily utilize NAS storage and the risk there is minimal backup options. Currently, we are backing up NAS to NAS which is costly and slow. Being able to integrate NAS server backup would be the last item on my Quorum bucket list."
"I would like to see more broad support for other applications such as databases, or other operating systems."
"Regarding managing LQ or Liberty delivery, there was no system initially; it was solely for backing up Vista Disc. I suggested enhancing this option. However, my experience with Dibree was unsatisfactory. I recommended adding Azure for EBMI XPower backup and incorporating SolarWinds for end-of-month risk processes, which were not part of the initial solution."
"The tech support needs improvement."
"CDP also requires a lot of development, because there are a lot of restrictions now for CDP. There is a chance to improve CDP and make it much easier for the customers."
"They need to focus more on cloud backup."
"If a single file is corrupt then the restoration of the entire backup will fail."
"Veeam Backup Replication could improve by having better integration with the cloud. Additionally, they do not have direct integration to S3 or Azure storage for the backups of the VMs. This feature would be beneficial because we have to go through the scalable repository which I do not like."
"It would be preferable if they could introduce a complete Linux version instead of relying solely on Microsoft for management. There should be a unified integration of all their products. Currently, there are various products like cloud backup and others that exist separately. It would be better if they could create a single comprehensive platform or product, as opposed to having disparate products that lack proper communication between them."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution’s pricing is economical."
"I am not sure how much it costs, but I know it's expensive."
"The total for our current solution's licensing is about $14,000 for 12 servers for three years."
"The upfront cost of purchasing a license for the hardware is quite steep."
"We have never questioned whether it is worth it because it so obviously is a great value."
"Quorum OnQ can be described as a medium-priced product...There are no ingress and egress charges in the product."
"When we first got the Quorum the licensing was different."
"When we quote the price of Quorum to customers, they find it expensive."
"The licensing is based on the number of cores you have in your ESX or Hyper-V environment."
"If you have Exchange, Oracle, SQL, or a supported SAN, then I suggest getting at least an Enterprise edition. It’ll pay for itself in no time."
"They could work at providing a better price."
"We use the community edition of the Veeam Backup Replication and it is a software-based license. It can be a little expensive."
"The price is affordable."
"The product is expensive."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"The pricing is good and affordable."
