Consolidated cloud security has reduced manual work and has automated vulnerability remediation
I elaborate on my rating of SentinelOne support by mentioning that there was some time where the troubleshooting took a longer time. In fact, there were many meetings going on. The availability of the document on the internet is on a lesser side because as an engineer, I would want to know about the troubleshooting aspects of this particular tool. When I am facing a customer, I do not prefer to bring the vendor to every call and try to resolve it, as it takes months and months. It would be better to have a training session with the engineer on site to explain and train properly. This is not the case with SentinelOne, so this is the only thing I have a complaint about. I do not have any other room for improvement to suggest within SentinelOne itself. However, I would really want the AI assistant for the threat hunting part to be more accessible. They have it, but they are making it licensed, so it is a bit on the higher end.

Helps with risk assessments for containers, assessing security, and ensuring container compliance
I rate the overall product a nine out of ten. Customers can conveniently view all companies in a single dashboard if they have different companies. This feature eliminates the need for different solutions and separate installations. Moreover, the solution extends beyond servers, encompassing various platforms such as VMware and Kubernetes. Additionally, end-users can install the solution from their client's perspective.

Have faced limitations due to high costs but have maintained reliability over time
The primary issue is the pricing, which is very expensive for my company's budget. We cannot afford to pay such a large fee. We are not Microsoft or BMW; we are a small company. As a small company, I have no power to negotiate directly with VMware. Perhaps larger companies have more opportunity to contract directly with VMware, but I do not have that leverage. The only path I can follow is to change solutions. Net.spA is a company working in the field of waste management. We are not a technological company, so we do not have a large margin to justify purchasing and maintaining the VMware infrastructure at current costs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security has significantly improved our risk posture."
"The most valuable feature is the easy-to-understand user interface, which allows even non-technical users to comprehend and resolve issues."
"Singularity Cloud Security's most valuable features are its ease of scalability and comprehensive security measures."
"The management console is highly intuitive to comprehend and operate."
"The visibility SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security provides into the Cloud environment is a valuable feature."
"Atlas security graph is pretty cool. It maps out relationships between components on AWS, like load balancers and servers. This helps visualize potential attack paths and even suggests attack paths a malicious actor might take."
"Singularity Cloud's ability to create custom correlation searches and reduce noise is highly valuable."
"The agentless vulnerability scanning is great."
"Runecast is a good partner for VMware. Once we have installed it, we can see all the problems and issues. It also has VMware knowledge-based articles."
"With HPEOO we're talking 45 minutes, at least, for provisioning of a VDI, and for the VMware stack, with vRA and vRO, we've cut that down to about 12 minutes."
"It has given us more insight into how we run our entire environment."
"Best tool for capacity planning and analyzing the existing infrastructure in VMware."
"It can compare hardware to software, and I have all the information in one place."
"The value from vROps, from a traditional sense that we had, is the visibility into the back-end, to know when we are having issues with VMs before it actually becomes an end user issue."
"What we do, as a whole for our group... is storage virtualization and the compute side. This product brings all those pieces into one interface and now we can actually correlate data between them."
"The capacity management has saved us more than 30% on storage."
"We've explored a number of products. We've used SolarWinds and their VMWare add-ons. But to be able to actually see what our infrastructure does, vRealize Operations Manager has been the closest match as part of our Enterprise agreement."

Cons

"There is scope for more application security posture management features. Additionally, the runtime protection needs attention."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security filtering has some areas that cause problems, and to achieve single sign-on functionality, a break-glass feature, which is currently unavailable, is necessary."
"If something happens in our infrastructure, the alert appears on the dashboard, but I have to log in to the dashboard and refresh it. I would prefer it to provide better alerting and notifications so that I can resolve issues on priority."
"With Cloud Native Security, we can't selectively enable or disable alerts based on our specific use case."
"There is room for improvement in the current active licensing model for SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security."
"We wanted it to provide us with something like Claroty Hub in AWS for lateral movement. For example, if an EC2 instance or a virtual machine is compromised in a public subnet based on a particular vulnerability, such as Log4j, we want it to not be able to reach some of our databases. This kind of feature is not supported in SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security."
"Whenever I view the processes and the process aspect, it takes a long time to load."
"I have noticed that the dashboard occasionally gets stuck, potentially due to internet issues. It could benefit from enhancements to be more robust and smoother."
"The product lacks network assessment capabilities. We cannot view our network assets or scan switches, routers, or IPs for vulnerabilities and issues."
"In vCenter 6.7, there are themes. I would like to see that add to vRealize Operations as well."
"It is somewhat not as user friendly as I think it could be."
"It was not intuitive and user-friendly in the versions leading up to 6.5."
"More stable upgrades, if that's a feature. Had some problems so far."
"Price could be cheaper."
"I want vROps to have wider compatibility with older hardware."
"An area for improvement would be application-level monitoring."
"I think, one of flaws is in its reporting, in that you can’t search, export or manipulate metrics relating to VM IOPS in a useful way, (version 5.6)."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"PingSafe is affordable."
"I understand that SentinelOne is a market leader, but the bill we received was astronomical."
"It's a fair price for what you get. We are happy with the price as it stands."
"The pricing is somewhat high compared to other market tools."
"It's not cheap, but it is worth the price."
"For pricing, it currently seems to be in line with market rates."
"The features included in PingSafe justify its price point."
"PingSafe's pricing is good because it provides us with a solution."
"Runecast's pricing is cheaper than that of its competitors."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"If you compare the prices of VMware and the cloud solutions along with the components that you may use, I feel that it may be costly."
"I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
"So, besides the license overall, you have to pay for the type of support you want. With the license, there is a support cost as well."
"It is an affordable solution that doesn't require any additional costs."
"Our budgets are always tight. We would like to have more features at lower licensing levels for easier access to them."
"The solution has a huge cost. If we could just have one license covering everything that vROps can do, that would be great. I would prefer it this way."
"It was cost effective, because it fixed our problems."
