Enables us to prioritize and effectively address critical security issues
Evidence-based reporting helps us to prioritize and solve critical security issues. The new visualization feature demonstrates how an attacker can enter the system, highlighting the potential path that can be exploited and outlining all the steps the attacker could take. With that visibility, we can ensure the perimeter is strong and attackers cannot enter, thus reducing the risk. It has helped us prioritize issues. The visibility into how an attack could happen is valuable. For example, it highlights the system vulnerability and outlines where an attack could propagate. The visualization helps me to prioritize remediation, and if I don't know where to start, I can check to see the score that enables me to prioritize issues. I am using infrastructure-as-code scanning, and it's one of the useful features. In pre-production, it identifies embedded secrets and misconfigurations, including issues with Kubernetes or some privileged containers. This feature allows us to pass the audit and secure IaC code so that it isn't easily exploitable by attackers. We can more proactively work to identify and resolve vulnerabilities by using the dashboard and the alerting system that SentinelOne provides. It helps us with audits and compliance. We can show the compliance in percentage. We can confidently say that our company or infrastructure is very secure. It has improved our security posture by 30% to 35%. It has reduced our false positives by 30%. It has helped teams collaborate better. The security team manages SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security, and when it flags vulnerabilities, they are forwarded to DevOps for remediation. Previously, we needed to identify and report the issues, but there would be lapses in communication. Now, there is a centralized dashboard that anyone can look at and see the open issues and work on them.

Helps with risk assessments for containers, assessing security, and ensuring container compliance
I rate the overall product a nine out of ten. Customers can conveniently view all companies in a single dashboard if they have different companies. This feature eliminates the need for different solutions and separate installations. Moreover, the solution extends beyond servers, encompassing various platforms such as VMware and Kubernetes. Additionally, end-users can install the solution from their client's perspective.

Have faced limitations due to high costs but have maintained reliability over time
The primary issue is the pricing, which is very expensive for my company's budget. We cannot afford to pay such a large fee. We are not Microsoft or BMW; we are a small company. As a small company, I have no power to negotiate directly with VMware. Perhaps larger companies have more opportunity to contract directly with VMware, but I do not have that leverage. The only path I can follow is to change solutions. Net.spA is a company working in the field of waste management. We are not a technological company, so we do not have a large margin to justify purchasing and maintaining the VMware infrastructure at current costs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The UI and the widgets are what I personally appreciate. I find it easy to use."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security offers comprehensive security posture management."
"It is fairly simple. Anybody can use it."
"SentinelOne is far superior to our previous solution, Accops, due to its seamless updates, effortless maintenance, and user-friendly interface and dashboard."
"The cloud misconfiguration feature and Offensive Security Engine, as well as their alerting process, are valuable."
"The management console is highly intuitive to comprehend and operate."
"The most valuable aspect of Singularity Cloud Security is its unified dashboard."
"Cloud Native Security offers a valuable tool called an offensive search engine."
"Runecast is a good partner for VMware. Once we have installed it, we can see all the problems and issues. It also has VMware knowledge-based articles."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to get a view of our entire environment in a single pane of glass. We're a very large company, so going from one interface to another to troubleshoot an issue, or even just to get capacity information, is time-consuming and not efficient. Being able to go to one place and get that information is very helpful."
"The newer version is a lot easier to use than the older version. It's one of the easiest ways to obtain some insight into vCenter."
"The most valuable features are performance troubleshooting and performance monitoring of VM CPU, storage latency, storage throughput, basic uptime, downtime."
"It allows us to see the VM, our cluster utilization - the cluster level is what I work on the most. I'm able to see how much is being utilized, the rate of resource utilization, and when it will actually run out."
"As a VMware engineer, the visibility of the infrastructure that it provides is something that I am really impressed with."
"The faults and alerts features are the most valuable features of the product."
"Because we're only using the foundation version, it's really nice to be able to have the one spot to look at all the details over the last six hours, troubleshooting, tagging on the performance statistics together."
"It is a cloud-friendly application."

Cons

"The documentation that I use for the initial setup can be more detailed or written in a more user-friendly language to avoid troubles."
"While it is good, I think the solution's console could be improved."
"Maybe container runtime security could be improved."
"Currently, we would have to export our vulnerability report to an .xlsx file, and review it in an Excel spreadsheet, and then we sort of compile a list from there. It would be cool if there was a way to actually toggle multiple applications for review and then see those file paths on multiple users rather than only one user at a time or only one application at a time."
"The SentinelOne customer support needs improvement, as they are sometimes late in responding, which is critical in a production issue."
"It took us a while to configure the software to work well in this type of environment, as the support documents were not always clear."
"The first downside of SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security was the onboarding process, which was very challenging and took a lot of time."
"A two-month grace period for extended searches would be a valuable improvement."
"The product lacks network assessment capabilities. We cannot view our network assets or scan switches, routers, or IPs for vulnerabilities and issues."
"I was involved in the initial setup. It was complex."
"In vROps, I would like to have both automation and monitoring together, not two separate things you have to buy. I want them included in one package, one installation."
"It would be nice if it could tell me more about my hardware, if there were any updates on the network that should be deployed, if some firmware needs to be deployed on the server, etc."
"It is sometimes quite hard to use. If I need details, there is a huge amount of information that I need to review."
"I would like the product to be more interoperable with other solutions: more hybrids."
"I would like to see them do something about the complexity of the reporting mechanisms."
"I haven't been too impressed. There seems to be a lot of running around or not hearing back."
"In my current deployment, container monitoring is an area with room for improvement: Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, Mesos, whatever it's going to be, whatever anybody's going to use; just being able to monitor the Linux container ecosystem, resource utilization, contention, etc."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"PingSafe's pricing is good because it provides us with a solution."
"PingSafe falls within the typical price range for cloud security platforms."
"It is not that expensive. There are some tools that are double the cost of PingSafe. It is good on the pricing side."
"It's a fair price for what you get. We are happy with the price as it stands."
"PingSafe is less expensive than other options."
"The pricing is fair. It is not inexpensive, and it is also not expensive. When managing a large organization, it is going to be costly, but it meets the business needs. In terms of what is out there on the market, it is fair and comparable to what I have seen, so I do not have any complaints about the cost"
"PingSafe falls somewhere in the middle price range, neither particularly cheap nor expensive."
"PingSafe is not very expensive compared to Prisma Cloud, but it's also not that cheap. However, because of its features, it makes sense to us as a company. It's fairly priced."
"Runecast's pricing is cheaper than that of its competitors."
"The predictive analysis of the infrastructure helps our customers to reduce downtime and improve capacity planning. Issues are fixed faster with vROps."
"If you compare the prices of VMware and the cloud solutions along with the components that you may use, I feel that it may be costly."
"The licensing is quite expensive for our company."
"When we last did a comparison of solutions, the pricing was equal or similar."
"Bundle it in with your license rather than buying it as a separate product. It saves a lot of money that way."
"The billing is complicated because every country has a different option. Here in Chile, we don't pay for this kind of service with the Chilean pesos. We use another currency. In the future, I think vROps needs to work with governments for a native solution."
"I have reduced the time to troubleshoot for my customers."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price an eight out of ten."
