At the moment, we are moving things around.
We were using the solution as a firewall, and for VPN access as well. We could do user creation on it and just allow users access.

We were using the solution as a firewall, and for VPN access as well. We could do user creation on it and just allow users access.
It's very easy to manage things like the IPs or the URLs we need to whitelist.
In terms of the user, we need to create one or just provide access. We have separate groups, which is useful.
The UI is also very familiar. It makes the solution easy to access and we find it easy to do the things we need to do thanks to the user interface.
It is easy to set up.
Whitelisting could be better. We'd like to be able to automate more so we can whitelist in bulk. It would be ideal to have the ability in this tool or to have a tool that could plug in and allow us to do whitelisting in batches.
I've been using the solution for more than a year.
The solution is mature. It's been in the market for a long time. There are no bugs or glitches. The performance is good. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's quite reliable.
I've only used technical support once or twice to deal with a few issues. They were helpful and responsive. Support typically answers very quickly, with results in minutes.
Positive
We're in the process of moving to Palo Alto.
The solution is very straightforward to set up. The deployment took a maximum of one week. After that, we had everything up and running.
I'm not aware of the exact cost involved in relation to licensing.
I'm a customer and end-user.
I've used the solution across two or three companies.
Before choosing this solution, I'd advise users to ensure its capabilities match with the company's needs.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. The UI is good, the solution is easy to implement, and it fits in with various environments. It's a good product.
Fortinet FortiGate IPS are used for intrusion prevention and for protecting from intrusion.
Fortinet FortiGate IPS has helped increase the efficiency of our network operations and we are experiencing fewer queries in the network and security domain.
The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiGate IPS is its efficiency.
I have been using Fortinet FortiGate IPS for approximately one year.
Fortinet FortiGate IPS is highly reliable and stable. We have not had any major issues in network operations due to this firewall and security enhancements.
The scalability of Fortinet FortiGate IPS is good.
We have approximately 1,000 users using the solution. We plan to increase the usage of the solution.
I have contacted the support from Fortinet FortiGate IPS. The service was good but the speed could be better.
The initial setup of Fortinet FortiGate IPS is straightforward. The implementation can be done in two to three days. However, it depends on your network infrastructure and the configurations.
The implementation of Fortinet FortiGate IP can be done in-house if you have a good sizable team. However, in our case, we took the services of a consultant to migrate it.
We have a team of two to three people who can do the deployment and migrations.
I recommend this solution to others. It's a very stable, reliable, and scalable solution.
I rate Fortinet FortiGate IPS an eight out of ten.
We primarily deal with Check Point products and Fortinet solutions, such as FortiGate and IPS.
The firewalls are valuable for threat prevention. FortiGate IPS is also useful, even though it has room for improvement.
There is a need for enhancement with the signature management, improving the datasheet numbers, and scalability issues.
I think Fortinet has stability issues in Istanbul.
I believe the product is not scalable enough.
I think a lower price might be beneficial.
Overall, I would rate FortiGate IPS six out of ten.
There are issues with signature management, datasheet numbers, and scalability. Information about the security technical lead was discussed for internal use.
The solution is helping us with the base key match work operations center. They are monitoring our match work 24/7.
Overall, it's a great solution.
The detection is great. The possibility to detect any anomaly under our match work is great. We have a quick response.
We'd like more integration with the analyzer so we can track down any problem and have a correlation to try to find the root cause.
The solution could maybe use more integration with artificial intelligence to be more proactive.
I've used the solution for eight months or so.
We have about 100 users on the solution right now.
I'm just using Fortinet right now.
We pay monthly for licensing. You just need to pay standard costs and do not need to pay extra fees.
I'm using the Fortigate 60f.
We're a partner.
I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. We are quite happy with its capabilities.

We primarily use FortiGate IPS for security tasks like forwarding, firewalling, attack detection, etc. All of our internet and portal connections are routed through FortiGate IPS. For example, we use it in our entire wireless setup, including the guest wireless and our internal LAN for wireless distribution. All public internet traffic is filtered through Fortinet.
We like FortiGate's website change feature.
I've been using FortiGate for about five or six years.
I think it's stable now. Yeah, exactly.
Right now, it's not really scalable, but it's okay for us. However, looking ahead to three years from now, we might have a problem with scalability. We foresee a little risk down the road. The stability is okay for now.
Our usage is measured by the number of sessions in FortiGate, and it's divided by zones. In the French market zone, we have around 10,000 users.
We also use Juniper in some cases. In some ways, Juniper is more useful because we use this in our switch core for the internal LAN, so it's maybe more critical. Our sector depends more on Juniper than FortiGate. Three years from now, we might completely replace Juniper with FortiGate.
It is not difficult to set up FortiGate, but we have support helping us detect and troubleshoot difficult situations. FortiGate is easier to deploy than Juniper.
We need a few people for maintenance, but we have some support working with us, and we need that.
We have a FortiGate license for UTM, routing, firewalling, HTTPS, and some web features.
I rate FortiGate IPS eight out of 10. I would rate it higher if it had more features, stability, scalability, etc. For our requirements, I can rate it eight out of 10, but not more than that.
FortiGate is a firewall. It protects from viruses, malware, and other threats. We deploy it along with other Fortinet solutions, including the next-generation firewall, FortiClient, and FortiProxy.
FortiGate protects and secures our clients' networks. The security is solid, and it performs well. I think they use some artificial intelligence, so I think it's excellent equipment.
The graphical interface could be improved.

Fortinet FortiGate IPS is a firewall that can be deployed on-premise, as an appliance, or you can be deployed on the private cloud as a VM or public clouds such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.
One use case is where traffic is coming in, and it is scanned because all traffic is untrusted, even within the network. You want to scan the traffic within your network. Most of the use-cases are internal networks and external networks.
The most useful features of Fortinet FortiGate IPS are you can create a virtual firewall within it, most other firewalls do not have this feature. You are able to manage your network and have network segmentation within your firewall. Additionally, you can create virtual switches within the firewall and have policy management, such as firewall and access policy.
Fortinet FortiGate IPS could improve the configuration. In some use cases, there can be some configuration conflicts.

I would rate the initial setup of Fortinet FortiGate IPS a seven out of ten.
The licensing policies need to be fixed because if our license expires for Fortinet FortiGate IPS then all the functionality and internet do not work. However, with other vendors when the license expires the internet continues to work but some functionality is limited. Once my license expired before I even knew it, I could not continue with my business functions.
If you compare the price of Fortinet FortiGate IPS to other firewalls, Check Point is priced very high followed by Palo Alto and Sophos. Fortinet FortiGate IPS price is more reasonable.
I have evaluated other solutions, such as Check Point, Sophos, and Palo Alto.
I rate Fortinet FortiGate IPS a nine out of ten.
