Enhanced threat prevention with very good support and valuable behavior reports
We use FortiGate as a firewall. We have a FortiGate 201 model It's good that we didn't get hacked or attacked, indicating strong threat prevention. The reporting on employee behavior and the prevention of new viruses are essential features. Additionally, we have found it convenient for…

Robust, reliable, simple to install and good technical support
We are attempting to improve the use of URL filtering beyond threat protection. I'm not sure what the remaining threat protection features are off the top of my head. But beyond that, we use URL filtering. We have three approved cases for using external dynamic lists that are stored in a bucket repository. Then, for each URL site that needs to be whitelisted, we add it to the external dynamic list in order to gain access to this email. I would like Wildfire to be implemented. We use the equivalent in Cisco is the integration policies. We have the Wildfire but we are not currently implementing it. We don't have the license to use it, but we are not currently implementing it until we present the use cases that the company gives some value to and they approve the use of it.

"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate IPS are the dashboard and reporting which give us very good visibility."
"The solution’s initial setup is very easy."
"Fortinet FortiGate IPS has an easy-to-use interface and configuration."
"The solution effectively controls browsing traffic."
"I have found the decryption of Fortinet FortiGate IPS very good. It's called SSL deep inspection, it's working very well. This is how you decrypt access and traffic, and it is through the IPS antivirus center. Additionally, the UI is user-friendly."
"The most valuable features are security and vision, and all of the UTM functionality."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It's quite easy. Deployment took one to two weeks."
"The most valuable feature is its use of machine learning to detect potentially unknown threats."
"It's a monster, it's got so many beautiful features. We do deal with other firewalls and we've got a better idea of what other firewalls' capabilities are, any comparison with the Palo Alto I liked the quality of service on the applications that you can control the amount of bandwidth an application is allowed to consume. The best feature is the quality of the application quality of service."
"It's very easy to use and configure. What is nice about Palo Alto is that even if you don't understand how to use it, you can just click on upload and upload everything that needs to be blocked."
"We are currently using the URL filtering feature, which is the most popular."
"It effectively prevents malware, ransomware, and other attacks."
"I like the solution's interface."
"One of the most valuable features is the anti-malware protection."

Cons

"One area for improvement is the licensing policy. If support licenses are not renewed, the product's functionality ceases, which can be disruptive."
"IPs are not handled well and the process is unnecessarily complicated."
"They can probably improve the reporting feature. Reporting and report alerting are the main key features of this solution. They can always find ways to improve these."

"FortiGate's logging and reporting could be improved. I would also like to see Fortinet add a guest management portal."
"We'd like to have multi-factor authentication via fiber."
"The most important feature to have is zero trust, which is lacking in Fortinet FortiGate IPS."
"Right now, it's not really scalable, but it's okay for us. However, looking ahead to three years from now, we might have a problem with scalability. We foresee a little risk down the road. The stability is okay for now."
"Palo Alto Networks Threat Prevention could improve the commercial offing. Other solutions, such as Fortinet provide better commercial features."
"The organization mail security solutions could be improved. There is no mail security solution available."
"It's not so easy to set up a test environment, because it's not so easy to get the test license. The vendor only gives you 90 days for a test license; it's a tough license to get."
"The application’s pricing and dashboard need improvement. It could be user-friendly."
"The installation was complicated."
"Generally, to deploy it will take some downtime, about a day."
"The cost involves the price of the hardware, which is expensive. However, most of the Palo Alto solutions are expensive."
