Easy to setup and allows for easy accessibility, which is particularly beneficial for remote workers
Pros and Cons
  • "It's easy to deploy, and we don't have to worry about upgrading anything."
  • "One disadvantage is that we don't have immediate access to evaluate or fix data that is not in the app until we own the database."

What is our primary use case?

I recently made the move from Oracle ABS to Oracle Cloud.

What is most valuable?

One of the most valuable aspects is that it's a cloud-based solution. It's easy to deploy, and we don't have to worry about upgrading anything.

Additionally, it allows for easy accessibility by many people, especially while working from home.

What needs improvement?

One disadvantage is that we don't have immediate access to evaluate or fix data that is not in the app until we own the database.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for three years. We are currently using version 23B under licensing.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable, but it does have some limitations. I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. There are over 1000 users in my organization using this solution.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service and support team is okay.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is really easy but takes a bit of time. It usually takes around five to six hours.

What about the implementation team?

We don't have to deploy it ourselves. Oracle takes care of the deployment, so we don't need any engineers or architects.

We also have to handle the maintenance.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

It is a reliable ERP product.

Valuable Features

In the market, there are only a few handfuls of products that are reliable ERP products. One is SAP, you have Oracle E-Business Suite, and you have a few other legacy products still available in the market. When we spun off the company from Agilent to Avago, Agilent was already in E-Business Suite. Straightaway, we moved our system. When we spun off the company as Avago, we deployed everything in E-Business Suite straightaway.

Room for Improvement

There are a lot of features they can enhance. That would take some time, to go into a very detailed level of the product, especially in the area of the user interface, functionality and collaboration. They could do a lot of things.

When it comes to support, there's definitely room for improvement. Initially, support was very tough. When it moved to U.S., we got better support, but there is a lot of room to improve the support.

Use of Solution

I have been using it for about ten years; nine-plus years.

Stability Issues

Honestly, it's a very, very stable product. We have not seen any issues.

Of course, periodically, we may end up in some fixes and for that, we get support from Oracle to fix that. We have a support team available 24x7 team. We get good support from Oracle, as well as from our partners.

Scalability Issues

The EBS is scalable. We were three node: three node middle tier, three node in database, two node in external. We scaled up to four node: four node in internal, external, as well as database. Now we are in five node: Five-node middle tier, five-node external tier, and five-node RAC database cluster. Any time you scale up, the only downstream impact is required downtime.

Customer Service and Technical Support

When it comes to support from Oracle, over the last few months, I believe they have changed the worldwide support team structure. We're seeing some challenges in getting support, especially the first level support. With Oracle, if the person is not able to fix the issue, there's no such thing as delegating to the next level. We have that challenge.

Other challenges I’ve seen are cross-platform challenges. People from ERP and the people from hosting do not talk to each other. If you have some in-between issue – hosting-related issues end up with having issues in ERP – the two teams do not talk to each other internally. We ask them to talk to each other. We collaborate with both teams at same time. It is very difficult for us sometimes; it's challenging for us.

At the same time, we are using multiple products from Oracle. We have the Fusion stack, we have the ERP stack, we have the OBIEE stack, we have the IDM stack. Sometimes we have seen some challenges when comes to cross-application collaboration between the teams.

Initial Setup

The initial setup, when we spun off, we were in 11.5.9, 11.5.10. Two years back, we upgraded from 11.5.10 to 12.1. Then, just a few months back we upgraded from 12.1 to 12.2. It's not straightforward; it's complex. It's a complex upgrade when it comes. Getting support from Oracle, especially related to this product, is a bit tough, very tough.

Other Advice

I definitely recommend it; the product is really good. There is no doubt this product is really good and scalable. One good part is the reverse engineering, the changes and all those things that comes with Oracle products; it's easy to do, easy to manage and easy to maintain also. I definitely recommend it, no doubt. The only thing is that I always have some challenge with the support; that will continue to be the case.

A cloud solution for day-to-day financial well-being, organization, and human resources management

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to manage financial well-being, organization, and human resources.

What needs improvement?

We haven't fully unlocked its potential. Oracle ERP Cloud can benefit us through increased employee resource management. Implementing it requires robust planning tools and strong alignment with our broader business strategy.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle ERP Cloud for 17 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable, but there is a concern in our network.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Around 3500 users are using the solution.

What other advice do I have?

Oracle ERP Cloud is a great tool. We're not using it to its full capability. It's a matter of one doing their research and comparing, but the team can do much more than what we are using it for currently.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Comprehensive and scales well
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is approximately 70 percent scalable. We have more than 100 people using the solution in my organization."
  • "The solution should implement improvements with AI technology. Specifically, in the realm of ERP tools, this can be particularly beneficial, not only for cloud-based systems but for all types of tools. Additionally, a highly desirable feature is the ability to work offline."

What is most valuable?

Oracle ERP Cloud is a comprehensive solution.

What needs improvement?

The solution should implement improvements with AI technology. Specifically, in the realm of ERP tools, this can be particularly beneficial, not only for cloud-based systems but for all types of tools. Additionally, a highly desirable feature is the ability to work offline.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle ERP Cloud for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We had stability issues with the solution but it was not the solution's fault, it was our internet service.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is approximately 70 percent scalable. We have more than 100 people using the solution in my organization.

How was the initial setup?

It is difficult to accurately assess the complexity of implementing an ERP Cloud system, as it is dependent on the size of the company, the modules required, the number of employees, and the scope of the project. Depending on these factors, the amount of time needed for implementation can vary greatly.

There are certain criteria that must be met in order to achieve the desired outcome. This includes the requirement definition phase, analyzing and designing, implementation, training, data conversion, and migration. Depending on the complexity of the project, it could take up to one year to complete the deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of the solution is expensive. There are additional costs associated with this particular case that must be taken into consideration when calculating the overall expense. These costs may include but are not limited to, additional materials, labor, and other miscellaneous expenses that may arise during the course of the project. It is important to note that these additional costs may exceed the initial pricing estimate.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise that anyone considering using Oracle ERP Cloud in the future should put a significant amount of effort into their planning and preparation for the project. This will be beneficial in the long run, as it will help to ensure that the project is successful and that any issues are addressed before they become a problem. The lessons I have learned so far are that the more effort you put into the planning and preparation stages, the better the outcome of the project will be.

I rate Oracle ERP Cloud a ten out of ten.

Has a lot of customizations and flexibility, and it integrates well with other applications
Pros and Cons
  • "What's most valuable in Oracle ERP Cloud is that it's one of the largest ERPs available in the market and it has a lot of customization features. It also has a lot of flexibility and integration options that work with other applications. Many of the customers also migrate to the cloud, so Oracle ERP Cloud is a preferred solution."
  • "In terms of areas for improvement, there are still a lot of other features that need to be incorporated into the future releases of Oracle ERP Cloud. We're hoping those would come soon because they're available in other ERP systems. For example, we used to have a lot of AME customizations in the BPM, but now we have a very limited scope, so it would be great if we could extend our scope. Currently, we are working with product teams to get through some of those solutions, and how we could implement them, so we have some workarounds to deal with, but we still have a long road ahead."

What is our primary use case?

We use Oracle ERP Cloud for any business purpose such as supply chain, financials, in-house management, movement of materials, etc.

What is most valuable?

What's most valuable in Oracle ERP Cloud is that it's one of the largest ERPs available in the market and it has a lot of customization features. It also has a lot of flexibility and integration options that work with other applications. Many of the customers also migrate to the cloud, so Oracle ERP Cloud is a preferred solution.

What needs improvement?

In terms of areas for improvement, there are still a lot of other features that need to be incorporated into the future releases of Oracle ERP Cloud. We're hoping those would come soon because they're available in other ERP systems. For example, we used to have a lot of AME customizations in the BPM, but now we have a very limited scope, so it would be great if we could extend our scope. Currently, we are working with product teams to get through some of those solutions, and how we could implement them, so we have some workarounds to deal with, but we still have a long road ahead.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Oracle ERP Cloud for quite some time, in particular, four or five years now. I'm using the latest version of the solution because it has a quarterly patch, so it gets upgraded, and it's on the cloud, so I don't need to worry about the version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle ERP Cloud is a fairly stable solution. My company only needs to retest some of the applications and point that to product development during patching cycles, but the solution has evolved far more than it was a couple of years back.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company hasn't tried scaling Oracle ERP Cloud, but to do it, you have to take care of cloud port profiling first, and whenever you see that the performance isn't good, you can always request for cloud port profiling. The Oracle ERP Cloud team does the rightsizing of the application, and that improves performance. With the solution, there's a way to try other things first before scaling, and I'm fine with that.

How are customer service and support?

I do deal with the technical support team of Oracle ERP Cloud for issues and gaps, and on a scale of one to five, where one is the worst and five is the best, I'm rating support a four.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Oracle ERP Cloud is simple as it is cloud-based. The solution has import and export features, and you can use a template to upload, so setting up Oracle ERP Cloud is easy.

What other advice do I have?

I'm using Oracle ERP Cloud. I'm not an IT person. I'm more of a consultant.

The solution is on the cloud, so there's not much to maintain, and this makes Oracle ERP Cloud more portable and easier to use.

I would recommend Oracle ERP Cloud to others.

I'm rating Oracle ERP Cloud eight out of ten as it has many features and many modules, though giving it a generic rating would be difficult because it would still depend on the releases of the solution, in terms of respective modules and business flows, but it has improved now, particularly in the customer experience area. I also noticed that the supply chain feature of Oracle ERP Cloud is coming up with a lot of flows and several advanced supply chain features being integrated into the solution, and that makes Oracle ERP Cloud a better ERP solution in the years to come.

A stable solution that allows us to use full sets
Pros and Cons
  • "Oracle ERP Cloud is a stable solution."
  • "Technical support is good, however, sometimes we do need to wait for an answer."

What is our primary use case?

I am the ITC general manager with our company in Libya. I am responsible for all the ERP projects in our sector in the country. Four of our subsidiary companies have implemented Oracle ERP Cloud.

We are using a hybrid solution, using some Oracle solutions and using our own cloud service to host the server.

Maintenance of the solution requires a team because we also support our subsidiary.

What is most valuable?

We are using a hybrid solution so that we can use full sets.

What needs improvement?

Oracle ERP Cloud could improve the payment transfer. In Libya, the local pay is on the cloud, only there one can see the payroll, so it is very important for us to have a payroll model added.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle ERP Cloud is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable enough for our needs.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is good, however, sometimes we do need to wait for an answer.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The solution's initial setup is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

Prior to Oracle ERP Cloud, we were using either SAS or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Moving to this new solution, we can unify the previous versions.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have an annual license with Oracle, however, if we need additional features we do pay for them.

What other advice do I have?

In our situation, the solution needs to handle working with other countries. We need special features and that's why we have a payment agreement regarding the support and transfer.

I would rate Oracle ERP Cloud an eight out of ten.

Cloud solutions are more flexible. They require less training than on-premise solutions.

What is most valuable?

I'm going to be talking about Oracle Cloud SaaS solutions - Cloud ERP and Cloud HCM.

There are many features that are available in the cloud solutions, but I could just mention some of them. I would say that SaaS is more flexible. It gives us a better ROI in terms of the investment that you need to do compared to the on premise solution. Of course all the flexibility and the encasements on the user experience. Being able to have a better usability and better productivity of your users, and everything on a pay per use basis.

How has it helped my organization?

Some of the things that I've seen, I actually implemented to our customers, are the flexibility to have a better use of the tool without being trained, the users. In that case, when you implement any old solution, any on premise solution, you had to go and train the users. Probably a week of training. With cloud solutions, it's more following the standards, the market standards, and how the users can navigate through the tool, based on standard patterns. In that sense, the users can easily navigate through the application and perform actions without having to be trained.

The other important aspect is that you don't have to do capital investment. What that means is, you don't have to buy servers, you don't have to buy hosting. You just go and have that available.

What needs improvement?

Something that everyone is asking for is how you can have the Internet of Things and mobility on this application. Right now, we can see that there's a need for new mobile application, native mobile applications. You can run Fusion, you know, the cloud applications in your mobile, because it's responsive, but having all the features of using the native tool in your native device makes that even more rich in terms of the functionality. In that sense, I would expect from Oracle to have more native applications for Android and iOS that will be connected to the Oracle Cloud to make the users more productive in their environments. Whether it's a sales person going to meetings with customer, or a consultant entering a task, or completing the task. That's where we expect more to be.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for almost 2 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I did not encounter any show stopper with deployment. Something that I'd recommend is to work on the number of environments. In our case we typically use: Production, QA/Testing, Development and by default Oracle sells only 2.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

No, the system was very stable and it is key to have a good implementation partner that is knowledgeable of the solution to avoid starting with the left foot.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

No, I did not encounter any issues. As a matter of fact this is one of the strengths of the solution since you are able to scale without any issues.

How are customer service and technical support?

Customer Service:

Oracle's customer service has been improved over the last few years and specially with Cloud products has done a good job making sure the customers are very happy.

Technical Support:

The technical support keeps improving. This is another area that has some room for improvement, but we have not had any issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The adoption of cloud with flexibility and scalability makes a no-brainer to move into a solution that comprises multiple modules and the best security in the market.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very simple and because of the nature of IT Convergence (system integrator with more than 125 certified implementers) made it simple and reliable.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation of all the cloud solutions is very simple. In the past, we used to have a month of implementation projects. Right now you can count that in weeks. What's the change? Well, the change means that it's about how you can have all this solution deployed within a matter of clicks. Having no concerns on how you deployed security, how you have the disaster recovery, how you have your backups in place. Well all that, it's done by Oracle, so you just focus on how you get the application up and running, with your business needs. That means faster time to market, faster user experience, faster happiness of your users.

What was our ROI?

The ROI is about 2.5 years considering all the aspects of the resources, hosting, support, etc.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My advise would be to partner with someone that has a strong knowledge and expertise on Cloud since there are aspects, for example the number of environments or storage that could bring some surprises.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

No, because we've been working with Oracle for a long time and we trust their software.

What other advice do I have?

Rating: I would say that in terms of Cloud ERP and Cloud HCM, the solution is about an eight. There is still room [for improvement] in terms of mobile applications and functionality that needs to be developed. In my case, I'm based out of Argentina, so for example, it's very difficult to use, because Oracle Cloud ERP does not meet the global standards, the legal requirements in Argentina and some other countries. That's a matter of the evolution of the software. That's why I think that it will cover the majority of the aspects of a business, but that's why I would consider an eight. The good thing is, all the user experience and the brand new look and feel that it has, that makes every user that I have been deploying this application happy.
