What is most valuable?
Data scraping is used to extract tables in web applications and provide iterative action to the tables based on the conditions.
What needs improvement?
Selector fails in iterative action so the next release must focus on selector related issue, and also, improvement is needed in its stability.
For how long have I used the solution?
One to three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Poor stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of the product is good during deployment.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We switched from AutomationEdge because of vendor issues.
What was our ROI?

RPA Team Lead at a tech services company with 201-500 employees
Provides flexibility to create custom activities as per our need
Pros and Cons
- "UiPath provides scraping of both structured and unstructured data."
- "The UiPath tool doesn’t provide an option to resize the activities as per wish, especially if the activity is a big box."
What is our primary use case?
Reading non-PO invoice details from SharePoint form, validating it, sending it for manager approval, and on receiving manager approval mail, entering the invoice details with invoice and approval attachments to SAP.
Getting forecast values of demand management processes in an Excel attachment and mail body from customers directly, analyzing it, processing it, and inserting it into the database so that the demand forecast team can get data easily without human effort.
How has it helped my organization?
Eliminated human errors: The manual actions had caused an error in the excel formula, and it was unknown to the business until the UiPath RPA tool was implemented.
Human efforts were reduced in handling non-PO invoice and data insertion to SAP.
What is most valuable?
- Unlike other leading RPA tools, UiPath provides a great user interface so that a person with minimum technical knowledge can understand the flow.
- UiPath provides a large number of activities which we can reuse as per our need just by changing the properties and parameters.
- UiPath provides the flexibility to create custom activities as per our need.
- UiPath supports integration with various OCR, cognitive services, ML and IoT related services and tools.
- UiPath provides the flexibility to use an unattended robot without the need for Orchestrator.
- UiPath Orchestrator component is a very powerful tool which if utilized effectively, can make the robot management and monitoring very easy.
- UiPath Orchestrator supports using APIs, in which we can get the details from the Orchestrator database.
- UiPath’s recording feature is very helpful to begin the automation process and provides options to choose from recorders as per our need.
- UiPath supports version controlling feature which is very useful when the project is done by sharing tasks with multiple persons in the team.
- UiPath provides various workflow models such as sequence, flowchart, and state machine.
- UiPath provides an inbuilt logging facility.
- UiPath provides scraping of both structured and unstructured data.
- UiPath provides specific tutorial and documentation for SAP automation.
- UiPath supports .NET, Python, and JavaScript codes.
- UiPath provides debugging options usage, in which we can go through each activity along with the process flow, highlighting each action on the screen along with the flow, and showing the values of variables at the run time during the point execution of an activity.
- UiPath provides the facility to use numerous .NET namespaces by importing them easily to the project.
- UiPath provides the flexibility to create a custom activity from our custom .NET DLL.
What needs improvement?
- UiPath’s reluctance to add the support of C#/.NET code till now.
- The UiPath tool doesn’t provide an option to resize the activities as per wish, especially if the activity is a big box.
- Non-availability of maximizing options in the property edit box, argument value edit box, etc.
- No option to mark a set of activities as favorites in all projects done in a system. We have to set favorite activities separately for each project.
- The comment option could be better. When an activity or sequence is commented on, there will be two wrapping sequences which are unnecessary.
- Also, the display name is always the same, the display name of a commented section should be the display name of the sequence or the display name of the activity itself.
For how long have I used the solution?

Reduced FTE and a significant reduction in errors
What is our primary use case?
We started with UiPath to automate activities that required gathering data from different applications and posting the data to another app.
How has it helped my organization?
Reduced FTE and a significant reduction in errors. Also, the processes can now be scheduled using Orchestrator and can be scheduled 24x7.
What is most valuable?
- Tool has a macro recording feature that can generate the code for you automatically.
- The recent computer vision AI feature. This feature helps recording for remote desktop and citrix environment and enables recording by converting images to textboxes and other window controls. As a result, recording feature for remote environment is now like recording for local environment
What needs improvement?
Improvement in the parsing of PDF files.

Extraction of complete tables from websites automatically extracts data from multiple pages
What is our primary use case?
We use UiPath to automate multiple flows for our client. We have flows in multiple stadia: development, acceptance, and prod.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath is the first RPA tool I've used, but it seems to me that it is the best of what is currently available on the market. It is very easy to use, and you'll be able to automate your first flow in a matter of.
What is most valuable?
- Extraction of complete tables from websites automatically extracts data from multiple pages by indicating the 'next page' button.
- The newly launched Computer Vision functionality also seems very interesting.
What needs improvement?
The licensing model is for me still a little bit confusing. There are a lot of different license types for the robots, which makes it difficult to comprehend in what case you should use which license type.
Most error types are very clear, which makes it very easy to debug the flows, but from time to time some general error messages might pop up (Object not set to an instance of an object), without specific reference, which makes it a lot harder to find the error.
For how long have I used the solution?
Less than one year.

RPA Technical Trainer at Acronotics
One great feature which is relatively simple is its ability to pause a recording and resume it
What is our primary use case?
I wanted to learn this platform to widen my breadth of knowledge and to have more options in my RPA toolbox.
How has it helped my organization?
I am using it to help individuals, entrepreneurs and enterprises achieve the throughput, accuracy and additional capacity they require. I recently certified on the platform and find it quite satisfying to work with.
What is most valuable?
One great feature is relatively simple, and that is the ability to pause a recording and resume it. When debugging UiPath's ability to slow down its execution speed, visually identify UI elements it's interacting with while simultaneously showing the activity line it is working on is priceless. Coming from a lean process improvement background, I can appreciate this being implemented in a software application.
What needs improvement?
- The ability to search for activity lines in your code in the outline view would be great. Just type, and it would filter it in a way that you could click and jump to it.
- It would be nice to have a centralized debugging tool for issues with arguments passing (missing/type) so as to easily detect problems.
For how long have I used the solution?
Less than one year.
Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer: In the near future my organization will be engaged in training on this and competing platforms.
Business Process Consultant at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees
Automation has not only reduced processing time but also eliminated human errors
What is our primary use case?
We are automating all transaction-based processes, primarily in the finance department and sales operations. With this, the personnel involved in these transaction-based activities have been able to start working on more value-added tasks like data analysis and performance management of the operation.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath automation has enabled different organizations with the possibility to redeploy personnel involved in transaction-based activities to do more value-added tasks like data analysis and performance management of the operation.
This automation has not only reduced processing time but also eliminated human errors, driving an improvement in quality scores and CTQs.
What is most valuable?
Development is straightforward and simple; it uses object-oriented coding by doing drag and drop. The deployment process is quick and easy with great features for testing and troubleshooting.
Reusable components library is an excellent source of information and content to ease and speed up the development process. This feature, combined with a robust infrastructure creates an excellent foundation for driving automation to the next level.
What needs improvement?
Engagement during the proof of concept period could have been better in regards to the implementation and follow-up. Also, after completing the PoC, we should have done a review of the critical learning and aspects of the application to determine the next steps based on the objectives of the company.
For how long have I used the solution?
Three to five years.
