Putting the campaigns together is reasonably straightforward, but it takes a lot of work to set it up the way you want
Pros and Cons
  • "Putting the campaigns together on Zoho is reasonably straightforward. They have a little campaign builder tool that works very well as long as you don't want the campaign to be too sophisticated."
  • "It takes a lot of work to get it set up the way you want. It's not an intuitive product. It takes coding work to get the sales process to work. That setup process could be simplified significantly."

What is our primary use case?

We use Zoho Campaigns because we use Zoho. They're not particularly sophisticated campaigns. They're drip campaigns. They might have about six or seven steps in them. We have contacts, and we might send them a communication, usually an email but it could also be some other channel, and get some kind of feedback from them or not. Depending on the feedback or not, we send another communication to them, and so on. So, we have campaigns that run about six or seven steps for that.

What is most valuable?

Putting the campaigns together on Zoho is reasonably straightforward. They have a little campaign builder tool that works very well as long as you don't want the campaign to be too sophisticated. Building a campaign on HubSpot is more difficult, but it can be more sophisticated. That's the primary difference between the two environments, but for what we want to do, Zoho is perfectly fine. We don't see a yawning gap in the functionality.

What needs improvement?

Zoho's overall usability could be improved in every module.

It takes a lot of work to get it set up the way you want. It's not an intuitive product. It takes coding work to get the sales process to work. That setup process could be simplified significantly.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using it for seven years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a pretty stable product. They handle upgrades and increases in functionality quite nicely.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's pretty scalable. We've had 20,000 contacts in this one.

How was the initial setup?

It's about the same as HubSpot. There's a piece of work to be done, and you can do lots of things that, for instance, you can't do in HubSpot, but you have to be almost in the state of writing code to make it work.

For deployment and maintenance, there are about two people.

What was our ROI?

The guys who are responsible for that part tell me that they got a good return on investment. I couldn't quantify it, but they felt it was worth the effort. They had to put a lot of effort in to get the sales processes, the campaigns, and all the things working. They've spent a year getting that done, but they said afterward that it was worth it as far as they were concerned. I don't know what that means as a quantifiable ROI, but they felt it was good.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have an enterprise license for this because we use Zoho for lots of things. We have HR and a bunch of other things. We probably don't pay individually for marketing or sales, and it's all in the overall license that we have.

What other advice do I have?

If people are going to go into Zoho, they have to be prepared to put in the work. They got to understand that there's a lot of work to do to get it set up the way you want it. It's not an intuitive product from that point of view.

Overall, I would rate it a seven out of ten.

A very simple solution that is reasonably priced and easy to access
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a very simple solution for email."
  • "They need to improve their anti-spam capabilities."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for email purposes.

How has it helped my organization?

We use it for corporate email and so far it's been great.

What is most valuable?

It's a very simple solution for email.

The solution is very inexpensive and very reasonably priced.

The solution does offer a wide variety of products, although we just take advantage of the email portion.

The solution is easy to access via a web interface.

What needs improvement?

I can't recall missing any features. We use it quite minimally.

They could get better at dealing with spam. They need to improve their anti-spam capabilities.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I can't speak to the scalability as we've never actually tried to scale it. We use it very minimally.

We don't have more than 20 people on the solution.

How are customer service and support?

They do have technical support, and you can get premium and standard offerings of support, However, we don't really need their assistance. We don't use it that much.

That said, I've received feedback that support is okay. It could be due to the fact that we do not have a premium option, however, I can't complain. It's been fine so far.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I'm also familiar with Gmail and Microsoft offerings.

We like to use Zoho as it is less expensive.

How was the initial setup?

You don't need to install anything. You use it via a web interface. It's very simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We only use a small Zoho package. We don't have an extensive license.

The cost is less expensive than, for example, Gmail. It's very competitive.

What other advice do I have?

As a cloud-based solution, we are always using the latest version.

I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud
