My company has been using Oracle Exadata Database Service for some years now, and we are happy with it. I will allow myself to answer your questions about why and what benefits it provides us with one word - security. I am not aware of a more secure way to run Oracle Database other than Exadata. Of course, some of the other ways have their perks:

But for my company, security is a lot more important than the additional benefits those other solutions offer. I believe this way of running the solution is truly secure and is best for everyone who wants to maintain an enterprise level of protection of their data.

1. One ran it through Oracle MySQL HeatWave, which was beneficial for us because it saved us from time- and money-consuming data movement and integration with a separate analytics database.
2. The second company, my current one, runs Oracle NoSQL Database Service. This provides on-demand storage-based provisioning and, for us, is extremely beneficial for document, columnar, and key-value data models, especially since it provides flexible transaction guarantees.
Each method of running Oracle Database has its own benefits. Luckily, they offer a wide variety of choices, so you can pick the most useful one for your company. I cannot think of a similar product that offers such flexibility.
