How does Omnify Empoer PLM stack up against Agile?
I am in the process of taking on a new ODM manufacturing mode where I will need to manage multiple global suppliers and organizations. The currrent PLM is Omnify. What are the pros and cons of Omnify vs Agile?
I'm helping to manage PLM integration at a company with over $1 Billion in Revenue with multiple Design Centers and Manufacturing sites globally. We are in the process of moving from Omnify into Agile as Agile has many advantages over Omnify
Omnify Pros
Low cost
Configuration and Administrator relatively simple
Smalller company with much less bureaucracy than Agile so more flexible
Omnify Cons
Not well suited for a large complex company with multiple design centers and mfg sites
Software has many bugs and is not sophisticated
Interface to ERP has many issues
Agile Pros
Very well suited for a large complex company with multiple design centers and mfg sites
Software is extremely sophisticated with an excellent user experience
Interface to ERP is very robust and can be bi-directional
Many modules (for extra $) which can streamline business productivity
Agile Cons
High cost
Complex Configuration and Administrator
Very Large company with a lots bureaucracy and multiple consultants needed for everything
