Hi! I am comparing Project Portfolio Management systems for a small IT department, located in a global organization; so, the system would need to be scalable.
We’re a Microsoft shop. (Exchange, Office 2013/365... and other (industry verticals. Our ERP is SAP. I'm familiar with Eclipse with another company, but I heard about Liquid Planner, Smart Sheet, CA and others (many others).
Everyone uses Microsoft Project Management. For the task of getting updates from people on tasks, sending out weekly status reports has gotten too cumbersome.
We’re primarily interested in being able to create projects, tasks, resources, due dates, %c.
Essentially, (I’m hoping) all/most Microsoft Project functionality. But also to collaborate on project schedules, let people/resources see / update their tasks, produce ad-hoc reports. Dashboards would be nice, but ease of use, tech support, training, regular updates - from a leader in the PPM space.
Obviously, Microsoft Project so a solid interface is another plus the usual, solid company in the Project Portfolio Management field, excellent support, etc.
Many of the Project Portfolio Management systems I’m seeing reviewed are probably too large/expensive for us. We would have about 7 heavy users and 10 or so light users.
I really would appreciate objective recommendations for good Project Portfolio Management software (I’m drowning in sales literature!)
I’m in the process of creating a list of features / functions so a few managers / PMs can prioritize them. Any suggestions with that would very much appreciated.
Thank you!
