I have not encountered any significant drawbacks with the product. As a Microsoft specialist with 30 years of experience, I find it a solid solution with no issues to report. The solution integrates well with our infrastructure and other systems without any issues. Overall, I rate it an eight.
It was supposed to be CloudKnox when we started implementing this JIT solution for AWS IAM Permissions management, Now, Microsoft bought that too and named as EPM, and with the recent release with SNow integration which can enable give JIT access to AWS accounts via SSO. Licensing cost depends on total resources which is a little higher.
We always get a dev tenant. We always evaluate. We have multiple Azure landing zones where when we progress to different levels, we put things in production. We do not straightaway put a new product. We always go through stages, work with Microsoft, get answers from Microsoft experts, and learn that product. I would rate Microsoft Entra Permissions Management a seven out of ten at this time.
