I honestly think Pyramid Analytics is one of the most fully featured BI products on the market today. I can't really think of any strong improvements. My experience with them and working closely with them is that the product is constantly improving to the point where features are delivered pretty much straight away as soon as we think of them. There's very little that they could do to improve it further other than continuing to keep pace with the market. Pyramid Analytics's governance and security capabilities are strong. It doesn't have full MDM capability for governance, but it does have the semantic layer that provides a lot of protection and allows the self-service ability in a governed way. The security is strong as well; I've always used it integrated with Microsoft Entra, so the security just flows through and users can only see what they're allowed to see. Regarding Pyramid Analytics's accuracy and reliability of output, it's again very strong. I've tested it extensively in the past and it accurately queries data. If it's not able to come up with an answer, it is very clear in a way that you can figure that it can't do it. For example, if you try and split something out by something that doesn't make sense, it will just repeat the number that you split out so that it's very obvious to you that it can't do it. I've never actually seen it give an incorrect answer based on the inputs and the underlying model. I would describe the learning curve for new users adopting Pyramid Analytics as quite shallow. The system is very intuitive. It's very easy to find your way around. We did require training upon using it, but very little. There's very little implementation effort needed from Pyramid Analytics's side. You can just pick it up and run with it. It is that easy to use. I would rate Pyramid Analytics's performance and speed, especially with large data sets as excellent, better than some systems I've seen. Pyramid Analytics itself adds very little latency on top of it, so it really depends on your underlying data set and the performance of your data warehouse. As long as that's good, Pyramid Analytics performs excellently. I would encourage others looking into using Pyramid Analytics to get a demo of it and ask very specific questions about its capabilities and around their own use cases. One thing Pyramid Analytics is very good at doing is showing you in a demo the platform's capabilities. Some other providers may just talk about them and say it can do it, whereas Pyramid Analytics is very good at actually showing you and giving you confidence that it can do what they are saying it can do. I would just say that in my experience of direct use for a number of years and having gone to market and compared it to other BI platforms, I believe that Pyramid Analytics has been and continues to be the strongest BI platform on the market currently. I would rate Pyramid Analytics a ten out of ten overall.
The user interface of Pyramid Analytics is very easy to understand and very intuitive, so my team and I felt it very easy to get onboarded on the platform and we took to it immediately. It was very easy for us to understand the solution and get used to it. We primarily integrated it with Microsoft Excel, and it's a very straightforward and very easy integration. Definitely, they are very easy to use and they meet my needs; the dashboards are very intuitive and very informative as well, and the reports that we're able to generate, we can customize them according to our needs, which is very much helpful for us. I would definitely urge others to use Pyramid Analytics more because of the capabilities that it provides; it's an adaptive analytic platform that provides different capabilities, and also it can be installed on most platforms such as on-premise as well as on the cloud. It is agnostic analytics that it provides, whether it's an OS-based feature or an iOS-based feature, it doesn't matter. It is very simple but effective data visualization, and that is something that is very much useful with this solution. Everything is very smooth with this software; the insights and the analysis that we're able to do is of the highest quality; I hope it continues that way. I would rate this product a perfect score of ten out of ten.

I would advise others looking into using Pyramid Analytics to invest time upfront in learning the platform properly. There is a bit of a learning curve initially, but once you understand the functionality, it becomes a very powerful tool. Also, make sure that your data is clean and well-structured before building reports, as the quality of your output really depends on the quality of your dataset, which is your input. For large organizations, it works well for workforce analytics and reporting. I would really recommend it for that use. I gave Pyramid Analytics a rating of eight out of ten.

The advice I would give to others looking into using Pyramid Analytics is to first check the capabilities of your people to see if they will be able to handle the complexity of Pyramid Analytics. I wish I had more time to use Pyramid Analytics to get used to it. Just when I was getting used to it, the company went in a different direction, and I do not know how it has improved since then. I would rate this product a seven point five out of ten.

All our folks at the offshore side work in ETL and did not have any prior knowledge of Pyramid Analytics, but they are very comfortable using it. In a day or two, they become accustomed to it, so it is very useful for us. They can always check how the data is looking in the database and how the data appears in Pyramid Analytics. When doing any deployments, we always take this as a baseline by comparing the pre-dashboard with the after-dashboard. If they are the same, our deployment is successful because when we are changing the data, it should not have any negative impact. Pyramid Analytics also releases updates frequently, so we have to become accustomed to new versions. Sometimes we have encountered some issues, but they were manageable. Cost has been reduced because we previously tried Tableau, but one of our clients did not agree to use Pyramid Analytics. Initially, we purchased Pyramid Analytics, and the costing is fine. We have a variety of insurance customers, and we track metrics such as incurred losses, written premium, and insurable objects on a line of business. Pyramid Analytics has positively impacted our organization in these areas. We highly recommend Pyramid Analytics. We recommend it to our clients from day one. It is quite reliable, and we are recommending it to everyone. I rate this review as an eight out of ten.

I believe Pyramid Analytics is a good platform with a lot of features and capabilities. It does not do everything, but most platforms do not do everything. I would give Pyramid Analytics a rating of 8 out of 10. My advice to others looking into using Pyramid Analytics is to pair it with a good administrator. Whoever you are choosing for an administrator, you want to choose someone that has both the data skills and the people skills in order to maximize what you are going to get out of Pyramid Analytics. I think Pyramid Analytics is really a good platform with a lot of good things going for it. If someone is considering it, it is definitely not the wrong decision.

My advice to anyone considering Pyramid Analytics would be that if you are a smaller organization with budget constraints but still need robust reporting metrics, Pyramid's mode could be the perfect fit. It offers all the necessary features and solid technical support at a more affordable cost. On the other hand, if you are a larger organization with a bigger budget, you might want to explore Power BI. While both platforms are similar, Power BI, being integrated with Microsoft, has the added advantage of seamless connectivity to Microsoft systems. They serve the same purpose, but Power BI is hosted by Microsoft. Overall, I would rate Pyramid Analytics as an eight out of ten.

It is a versatile and easy-to-maintain tool with connectivity to various databases. If the environment is highly secure and restrictive, configuring connections to systems like SAP or SharePoint may require overcoming network security restrictions and opening ports. There is no clear guidance on how to resolve these issues yet, so admin support is necessary for troubleshooting and analyzing logs or errors. I would rate it eight out of ten.
Overall, I would rate this solution an eight, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best. The reason for this score is their online analytics and modeling, which enables users to model new things. I also appreciate the simplicity of the new dashboards.

From my experience so far, I would not recommend Pyramid Analytics. However, we've only been using it for a month and it's quite a large platform. From my professional point of view, as somebody who is experienced with Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM — I trust those solutions. I know what they can do. This is the first time Pyramid's been thrown at me and it looks a little bit inhomogeneous. When we do a lot of cloud business, when I drift around the cloud platforms, I see Tableau, I see all the big players, but I don't see Pyramid pop up very often. This is the first time I've seen it. This is because it looks a bit dated. Even the designers look a bit dated to me. I am always wary of things that are going to become dated because that's one of the most expensive problems to run into. This thing becomes invalidated by temporal evolution. That's a big problem. Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give Pyramid Analytics a rating of six. If they want to play with the big boys, they're going to have to put some shoulder to the wheel.
